Nov 21 Monday Update

Last week seemed really long. No idea why. We didn't have anything going on. It was cold. Nothing to do. But.....stitch haha.

Sunday I started on the last Lili of the Valley Fairy (November) I finished it last night...

(14) November 20th
November from Lili of the Valley Calendar
From 2016 Cross Stitcher Magazine
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Evenweave
Threads are Suggested DMC
Started Nov 11th. Took 8 Days.
Whole Set Took 80 Days.

Another full set completed. I am so happy. I love her. She was definitely bundled up for the cold weather. We had a few days of negative wind chills. Our little electric heaters worked perfect. We never got cold and we kept them low setting. So we are happy for the test. Fred and Dad got our winter shower house all finished too. It's amazing to be negative outside and 60 degrees in our shower house. Perfect. We are happy and ready for the long winter.

Fred had his Amateur Radio Ham Fest all weekend. So again long stitching hours. But this week he has the week off and we have a lot of plans. Today we headed out to the grocery store to gather some Turkey day yummies. It was a fun day. Wednesday I have two doctor appointments. Then we are hoping to get our licenses all changed over to our new address. Thursday my Grandma (Dad's Parents) invited us over. So that will be really nice. I am making Deviled Eggs and Veggie Dip which is always my favorite part of preparing for a holiday meal.

There have been a few emotional days. No reason. Just emotional. I really really miss my mom. I think it's the quiet and probably the holiday coming up. Jeremiah helps me a lot. He misses her so much too. We are going to be okay just can't believe she is gone. 65 is just too young.

Well I am off to get my computer work done. I don't know what project is calling me next. I hear quite a few yelling for attention. Plus I have some new pieces begging but I told them to wait......for right now haha. Have a great week. Happy Thanksgiving to my US Readers. Don't eat too much.....Oh okay we all know we will. Love yourself. Smile.

Monday Update - Lots of Stitching and a Finish

Lots to talk about so let's go...

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I worked on the October Lili of the Valley Fairy. I finished it Thursday...

(6) March 17th
October from Lili of the Valley Calendar
From 2016 Cross Stitcher Magazine
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Evenweave
Threads are Suggested DMC
Started Jan 25, 2021 Took 9 Days.
Total Time 15 Hours and 2 Minutes

I had 3 days into this one January 2021. Now I only have 1 left for this set.

Friday I pulled out Wish Upon a Starfish for the day. It's an easy one to work on when I am busy doing a lot of other things...

I outlined the top pebbles and added a little bit of water color in the top section. Then we headed down to our cabin for the weekend.

I started my next Mischievous March new start...

I worked on it a little bit Saturday and Sunday...

So lots of stitching going on for me. Love it. Life is going to start getting busier but I'm going to do my best to work stitching in. Have a great week. I have no idea what I'm going to work on. This little kit is annoying so might take a break from it haha. We'll see. I hear a lot of screaming from my WIP tote.

Monday Update

Wednesday after I had my huge finish haha. I picked up my October Lili of the Valley Fairy again. I had 3 days into her last time. I got 3 more days added now...

I think I will keep going on it till she is finished. Just this one and November left to finish up for this set. Then I need to sew them into little pillows. I have some finished but several to do.

We had a fun weekend. There was a big indoor flea market in town. So we all went Saturday. We had a lot of fun. They had a booth setup with dog treats so we bought Spike a bunch. Jeremiah and Fred found some beef jerky/sausage. Jeremiah and Mom got some new t-shirts. I got some leggings (in a lot smaller size than I thought I would Wohoo!!) We had a nice meal out and then came home. One of the treats was new for Spike. Icelandic Cod fish skin made into a spiral treat. He LOVED it. So we started joking about how we needed to go back to the flea market. Then Mom realized there was a few shirts she wanted that she didn't get. Plus this and that. So Sunday Fred and me went back. We had a nice time together as always. Got some more treats and stuff. It was a fun day out turned into a lovely weekend.

Have a great week. We made cabin plans for the upcoming weekend. Just miss it too much.

Monday Update

Let's see what I've been up to this last week.

Last few days of December I kept working on the December Lili of the Valley Fairy. I had showed Day 1 when I posted on the 20th. I had a fantastic stitching day on Thursday and finished her off...

So she is actually a 2021 finish. Wohoo. She took 4 days and 11 hours 12 minutes. I really really wanted to start my new year day piece but luckily Fred and Jeremiah told me Noooo so I pulled out Dragon Eye. It hasn't been out of the WIP tote since Sept. 27, 2019. Here it was last time...

I got 4 hours and 45 minutes added to it...

It goes pretty fast because there is a lot less color changes than my other pieces like this. I was laughing at how it looks like Cheshire cat smiling.

New years day didn't go as planned of course. So I only got 2 hours and 31 minutes into my new start. That's okay though. Still I got to start and I'm in love!!!

The first page was a tiny one. So I got it finished up in 1 hour and 43 minutes. Then I decided to move down to page 9. You can see the horns are spaced apart so I'm worried about making counting mistakes...

If you can't tell I started on that first horn on the nose. I'm sooo in love with her. I don't know why but she gets to be a her. Just looks like a grouchy mom saying ENOUGH haha.

We have started today with purging some junk. Started with our kitchen pantry. Wow we had a lot of old stuff. We got it cleaned out. Now you can actually find stuff haha. I will be doing more of this that's for sure. So many areas need this done in our house. It takes away stitching time though haha.  Have a great week. Love yourself.

Monday Update

Busy Busy but I wanted to get this update posted. So let's hurry...

First I worked on December Year of Celebrations piece 3 days and was able to finish it up yesterday...

Just like all the others I love the way it turned out. Took 7 days. 8 hours and 2 minutes. Now I have 5 left. June, July, August, September, and October.

Then I decided to work on the December Lili of the Valley Fairy that was my set from last year...

It was nice to work on them again. I have October, November, and December left to finish up.

We are heading out to eat dinner and going through our city lights drive through. So I need to wrap up this post. If I don't get to post before hand I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas. I know we will. We can't wait already!!

Feb FFG

On the 10th of every month (or the next day haha) we have a fun blog event to share. Fully Finished Gallery is a push to go into our box of shame and finish up those old finishes that are hiding away. I have a very very large pile of them that need finished. So this SAL is the perfect excuse to drag everything out and get busy finishing some.

What to choose this time.
Found a fabric match for all my finished Lili of the Valley Fairies from last year. So far.
May and July were finished up this time. The flower material is what I put on the back. Love the way they turned out. So two more finishes to display. Thanks Rachel for the push!

Head over to Rachel's check in post to see what others have posted this month. I hope to be back next month with more finishes to share.

January WIPocalypse

Today is time to check in for the January WIPocalypse. The purpose on this fun blog SAL is to finish up all our WIPs before the End of the World. Crazy as this world is lately I think we'll be here for awhile so luckily I have a lot of WIPs to work on. I like to use this SAL as an excuse to keep track of what I've worked on since the last update. Plus who the before and after recap of my projects for the time period.

So let's see what I've been working on this year so far...

Year of Celebrations -- 5 Days

Started and Finished the first one from this set...

Sept Fairy -- 7 Days

Finished this one up from last year's monthly set...

Winter Time -- 1 Day

Got this one finished up with just the one day progress...

Bloody Mary Dragon -- 5 Days

I'm still working on this one so I will be updating it tomorrow on my Monday update.

Oct Fairy -- 3 Days

Started the next Fairy and got a little bit of progress on her in the 3 days...

Non Stitching Days -- 11 Days Not too bad. I should be making up for that in February though with the stitching challenge. Here's hoping.

Measi also gives us fun questions to answer each month. Question of the Month: Tell us about a WIP on which you’ve really struggled to make progress. Explain its history. What appears to be the reason you’re struggling? I did a Dimensions kit called Beach Chairs. It changed threads a lot and used a lot of blended threads. I remember hating working on it. I finally just gave up on it. Too many patterns I would much rather be stitching.

Don't forget to stop over to the check in post to see what others have worked on. See ya next time.

Monday after IHSW Update

So it was IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend) I took the weekend off everything. Even being healthy. No walking for me. Well unless I was going to the bathroom. The boys had two nights of their gaming marathon. So I had lots and lots of stitching time. First up I really wanted to finish my September Fairy. Guess what happened Saturday...

(Finish 2) January 16th
September from Lili of the Valley Calendar
From 2016 Cross Stitcher Magazine
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Evenweave
Threads are Suggested DMC
Started Dec 30th. Took 8 Days.
Total Time 17 Hours and 26 Minutes

Then I decided to pull out New York Dreamer Winter Time again. Hadn't worked on it since April 30th...
I didn't realize how close I was to finished. Luckily the boys stayed up till 3am so I got to work and 3 hours and 22 minutes later...
(Finish 3) January 16th
Winter Time
from New York Dreamer
Stitched on 32ct Vintage Country Mocha Lugana
Using Suggested GAST, CCC and DMC threads
Started Dec 28th, 2019. Took 10 Days.
Total Time 24 Hours and 20 Minutes

Sunday I got a little over 600 stitches added to Bloody Mary Dragon...
Yep still a mostly black blob. I'm trying haha. So it was very worth the break days. I got just a little over 2k steps each day Saturday and Sunday. It was very needed though. I had hit over 10k every day since January 2nd. I'm back at it today. Hit 12k steps. I hope you all have a great week. Smile. Love yourself. Love each other. Good luck finding time for thing that make you happy.

Monday Update with a finish

Let's see what I've been up to this last week. Monday was a busy day. No stitching time. Tuesday I got back to work on the January Year of Celebrations piece. Wednesday was another day off stitching. I was busy walking and then doing catch up on emails and blog reading. Thursday back to stitching my January piece and guess what...

(Finish 1) January 7th
January from A Year of Celebrations
From Hands on Design
Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Evenweave
Threads are Suggested DMC
Started Jan 1st. Took 5 Days.
Total Time 8 Hours 19 Minutes

Wohoo first one is finished. I really enjoyed the stitch and they take a lot less time than last year's pieces so I'm really happy about that too. I have an idea of how I want to finish them. Kind of like the model photo. But we'll see. Need to go to Hobby Lobby and gather the things I need.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday I worked on September from last year's fairy set. Made good progress on her finally too...

The leaves at the bottom took a long time. There is a lot of colors changes in there. But it will be worth it when the backstitching pops the little leaves into life. Here little feet are there to the left and her dress is starting.
I hope everyone has a great week. This coming weekend is IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend) warn your families/pets and get to stitching the whole weekend. Have a great week. Love yourself. Smile. Hope we all find time for those beautiful stitches.

Monday After Christmas

I think it's Monday. I have no idea haha. I know we had an amazing Christmas. But first on the 23rd I finished the August Fairy finally...

I just love this one of course. It's ocean related. Finished it just in time to get everything ready and head down to the cabin...

We met with Dad and Bev and my Dad's Uncle and his wife for dinner. Then just the 4 of us went to our cabin for the night. We watched a movie together and tried to sleep. We woke up had breakfast and Dad and Bev came back over for presents together and to watch National Lampoon Christmas Vacation our Christmas tradition. My Dad's side of the family had a small gathering at Grandma's house. The few of us had a nice meal and the extended family popped in after for a quick distant hi and bye to pick up presents. It was a lovely get together even in these weird times. We went back to the cabin to gather Izzy and our things and headed home.

Bed was calling by like 9pm haha. I ended up waking up ready to go at 5am which never happens for me. So needless to say I was excited about Christmas. I woke up everyone and get got started on our day. It was wonderful. We all loved everything. Jeremiah was spoiled rotten of course. No worries there. He got 5 new Xbox games. Fred got some games for his laptop. Mom got a new Snoopy blanket that she fell in love with. I got some fun stickers and notebooks for record keeping. Plus 3 new stitching patterns from my hubby. He did great!!

Bloody Mary, Dark Beer and Moonshine Dragons from Paine Free Crafts. I'm in love with them all. I quickly gathered my floss to see what I needed for these guys. 180 threads between the 3 patterns I needed 18. So Saturday hubby offered to take me get the ones I needed. How sweet. My 18 ended up being 50 haha of course. Plus made waiting in line worth it. Oh my everyone shops here day after Christmas I guess. I got started on Bloody Mary Dragon right away...

My dark dark 1,000 stitch blob haha. Using 32ct lambswool evenweave. 1 thread over 1. Starting in upper left corner so a lot of boring ahead of me. Goes pretty fast though. I did this in just little over 7 hours Saturday and Sunday.

I'm working on my year recap and I'll try to share some of what we received as gifts. Today I finally cleaned up a bit. I moved everything from the floor to Jeremiah's couch. Then from his couch to my computer desk. Today I finally put some things away. Slowly buy surely haha.

Have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Hope we all find time for those beautiful X's.

Monday Update

Nothing like squeezing in an update as I'm trying to head to bed haha. It's been a Monday. But I'm here. I took the weekend off. I was able to finish all the Christmas wrapping on Friday....boy that hurt my back and body. Jeremiah is so spoiled....of course that's my fault but I'll blame Santa haha. Saturday Fred was at a radio event all day so I curled up with my TV and stitching. Decided to get a start on the August fairy for IHSW (International Hermit Stitch Weekend). Got a tiny start Wednesday and a little bit more added Thursday. Here she was for the weekend...

Jeremiah had a gaming marathon Saturday night and ended up staying up till 3am. Which meant I did too. So I got a whopping 8 hour 50 minute day of stitching!!!! I barely moved all day. Only got 2.5k steps haha. Was able to get another 2 hours and 13 minutes Sunday. So here she was at bedtime...

I know!!! Just another hour and she might be finished. But I was TIRED haha. Wonder why? LOL Of course today I was non stop busy so hopefully tomorrow.

4 sleepies till Santa is finally here!!! We can't wait. Have a great week. Love yourself. Love your family. Smile. Hope we all get some stitching goodies delivered. We've all been good haven't we??

Monday Update

It's getting busy busy here in our house. Christmas is coming. Christmas is coming. Wohoo well as soon as I have everything wrapped haha.

First part of the week was spent getting everything decorated. What a job. Boy it sure looks pretty now though. All the lights and fun decorations. Thursday I finally stole time to stitch. Friday I put the final stitches into the July Fairy finally...

She ended up taking me 9 Days to finish up. Not bad. Now just 5 months behind. August wasn't calling me just yet. I heard the screaming of Beer Dragon again. So he got to come back out. Friday and Saturday I made some more progress on it...

Just love working on this one. I didn't get a lot of time though. The weekend was full of Christmas shopping. Saturday I finally got my new glasses and Jeremiah, Fred and I went to our local mall. We really enjoyed our time. Then Sunday Fred and Jeremiah went down to visit our cabin. Mom and I went shopping. We were hoping to be back soon and of course it took FOREVER which is okay. We had a blast. Now we are even more excited for Christmas to hurry here.

Saturday I'm going to start the wrapping process. Which I actually enjoy. Because I know soon we will get to rip the wrapping off. I just LOVE the Christmas morning smiles. Can't wait!!!

Okay. Have a great week. Love yourself. Hope we all find time for those beautiful stitches.

Monday Update

What a busy week. Every day I was excited about stitching and every day ended up being full with everything but stitching. Till the weekend finally. I was in a few workout challenges and had a busy week with those. So lots of walking. I hit over 10k steps every day until Saturday haha. Then I took a 7k day and Sunday was a 3k day haha. We got all our Fall/Halloween stuff put away and slowly starting the Christmas decorating. This year is sure weird. I'm excited about Christmas but not ready for December. Just not ready to be ready yet. We were planning to go get our Christmas tree Saturday. Luckily something made me look it up and we needed an appointment because of all the virus safety protocol. So luckily I was able to get one for Saturday like we wanted.

Here ya go Rachel the photos you wanted haha...

Jeremiah nicknamed the tree in honor of 2020 Cory Rona. Gotta love him haha. It's a Fraiser Fir and we are happy to have it in our home. After Christmas we will move it outside for the birds to hide in.

After decorating our tree I settled in on the couch for the rest of the weekend. Finally it was stitching time. I finished the stitching on the July fairy. Last night I started the backstitching but sleep wouldn't wait any longer...

Hopefully soon I will be celebrating her finish. Need that precious time. More work out challenges this week and decorating the rest of the house gets priority. But hopefully I'll squeeze in time.

We also found time to watch the first 6 episodes of Season 2 of Mandalorian. Gotta love Baby Yoda....The Kid. Just two more to go.

Have a great week! Love yourself. Love each other. Smile. Stay healthy. Find time for those X's.

Nov 30, 2020

Monday Update

Hi all. I sure hope everyone is doing great. It's almost December?!? I just can't believe it. I have started shopping but I'm not ready for December yet. I just need it to slow down a bit. I love Christmas and I'm not ready for it just yet. I hope soon. I need to put away my fall/Halloween decorations I guess. Time to get the winter/Christmas stuff out. Wow what a year as everyone keeps saying.

We had a very nice Thanksgiving just us 4 and that's okay. We ate ourselves miserable. Yes I gained 4 pounds haha. Don't worry I've lost 2 already.

I also got to stitch quite a bit...I had started the July.....yes yes July fairy. I just wasn't feeling it. I think it's because I'm mad that I want them done and NOW. Tuesday I picked it up again and finally fell in love with her again...

Then Friday I started the last Naughty November New start...

Woof Block Party from Hands on Designs I got a lot of time in Friday and was having fun working on it...

Saturday I was busy. Mom and I went to get groceries cause they were talking about a big snow storm today. (We got missed...*pout*) Then I came home and did some online shopping for Christmas. Best part is I had saved up vouchers for Amazon so after spending over $300 it was all free. Wohoo!! Now that's my kind of shopping. If only all of it could be that way right?

Sunday I got a little bit more added to the block party...

Love that little dog!!! Then I heard the fairy crying again for more attention. I picked her back up and added another half hour until my eyes couldn't handle it any more. I need new glasses. Mine are all scratched up and I've noticed my eyes are getting really tired in the evening. Time to get new ones.

Have a great week ahead. Love yourself. Love each other. Stay healthy. Hope we all find time for those wonderful X's.
