IN THE JUNGLE

Just few minutes walk outside our house
there is a small river with very small lakes.
Last Sunday we explored the river upstream.
Water is still really "brown"
because of the last thunderstorms
but really clean and water temperature is not so bad.

Bathing was not in our plans
so the kids took a swim
in their clothes.

SCHOOL IS REALLY OVER!

Final results at school.
Today I went to E.'s school to pick up his
R E P O R T
C A R D
He got full grades (10) in almost all the school subjects
but Italian (9) and Music/Drawing/Art (9).
Behavior grade has changed from the previous reports of the past years (click):
from "excellent" he has gone to "good"
(My kid is growing and turning into a little rebel)
Anyway the final evaluation says:
"The student has acquired an excellent working and studying method.
The knowledge of the subjects contents are well-structured.
He has good relationships both with the teachers and the classmates"

WELCOME SUMMER !

Summer is here (at last) to stay (I hope).
Yesterday we experienced first 30 degrees
A very good feeling
after all that rain and cold.
First dinner of the season on the terrace.
School is over and holidays have started.
E. said it was a pity because
"it's nice to go school and learn so many things".
Strange attitude after more than one mouth of morning complaints
about having to wake up and go to school.

CRAFTY SUNDAY

Last Sunday E. spent all morning
in M.'s basement crafty room.
In the beginning he didn't know exactly
what he was going to build
but started to saw pieces of wood, to hammer nails
and in the end here is the final result.

"I want to be a carpenter when I grow old"
This is what E. is thinking about his working future these days.

BUON APPETITO !

A note on the kitchen table Sunday evening:
" This is a dinner for you from your Emil"

Sunday evening E. decided to prepare a surprise for us.

When it was time for dinner
he forbid us to enter the kitchen,
set the table with care,
cut some fruit, bread and parmisan cheese
and put the pieces decorating the trays!
Good guy.

LITTLE CHAMPS

From the local newspaper:
the news of a day spent playing on a football ground
of the first division

COUNT DOWN HAS STARTED

On the way to school this morning.
One more week
and the school will be over!
I'm really happy for my kid.
He needs holidays now. Time to enjoy just being a kid.
With no worries.

Yesterday he had his final Math exam:
10 + .
I'm so happy about his schoolyear.
Always brilliant results.
A lot of diligence. So proud Mun!

HELLO JUNE!

Some kind of Summer came at last!
The weekend was sunny and warm.
Back on the terrace for breakfast and lunch
(not for dinner yet still a bit chilly).
Full outdoor schedule.
Everybody wants to enjoy the light, the sun and the smell of Summer.
Cousin's Birthday party on Saturday.
Early start (h. 5,30) on Sunday for a group mountain walk up to Mera.
An old tradition of the inhabitants of our village every year when the snow melts.
A kind of "Thanksgiving" to the Black Madonna  dating back in 1585
for the liberation from the wolves.
E. walked really fast leading the group and when he came up  on the top
after 2 hours and a half walking he was not tired at all!
Nice lunch outdoor with friends at the reastaurant
where we usually stop when we go to ski in Winter time.

Hello June! Here we go again!
