AARP • Paula Patton
The amazing Dian Holton, AARP's deputy art director, hired me to illustrate the actress Paula Patton. Of course for the weekly newsletter The Girlfriend's and @sisterletter's instagram posts.
Pretty much the same brief as for Jean Chatzky, Giada De Laurentiis and Natalie Morales, the portrait would need to be in color, and the background a pattern of things the person does. As a line drawing.

The chosen sketch was drawn using one of Paula Patton's photos (as I always do) for reference and there, her top was black. Dian wished for a colorful top though, so I tried a few patterns for the top.
