Dylan and I hit the road early, getting to the bakery on Main St. just after 7 pm. You can see our selections below, I asked for glazed doughnuts, assuming I would get the famous "square" glazed treats that this joint is famous for but when we got home and opened up the boxes they were round. This in NO WAY affected the taste, texture and overall DELICIOUSNESS of said glazed doughnuts. Our universal favorite was the buttermilk doughnut, bought on a whim when I asked the girl at the shop what her favorite was.
DONT GET ME WRONG. These were all finger-lickin' good. The fritters were off the charts. Didn't love the bear claws or the crocodile jaws. Too much stuff goin' on but I think that is personal preference. In general, I prefer the "bismark," which is a chocolate-glazed-vanilla-custard-filled treat. Lehi Bakery's version came in bar form. The chocolate frosted bar was one of the last ones in the box--about lunch time I cut the end off just to try it and saw the custard inside...It was SOOOOOO good. I ate 2 bites even with bellyache from the morning's donut glut. and it rocked. Not sure if all the stops on this 'tour' are going to be like this one but I can honestly say that these are the best doughnuts I've ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and get on down there. But get there early:)
