Just an idea: rather than looking for a new keyword, would it be possible
to create a new syntax that uses assert in a non conflicting way for BC?

Like :


T_ASSERT '?' expression ':' message ';'

T_ASSERT ':' expression ';'


Or anything else with this characteristics.
