Just for the record, quite like Marcus said, that voting was nice and got us the general impression of what people are thinking. But there's no voting mechanism in the PHP project, hence the numeric results are meaningless. I'm not disputing the final decision since I've had enough with this particular topic (I wouldn't mind if Marcus did, though)
Everybody has had enough of it, Zeev. This is exactly why I was giving the 'wet trout' treatment to anyone that attempted to start the discussion again.
We can try to come up with a way to measure the public opinion (public != internals), but it would be very difficult to measure that accurately too.
I was surprised it came out so strongly in favour of a goto implementation on internals@ (about 65% in favour). Splitting the results into core devs, php.net others and straight users didn't actually change that tilt any. But I have to say I was under the impression the name 'jump' had been agreed two months ago :-\ and it seems Dmitry was too. - Steph
