Let's try this blogging thing again.

Stephanie called me a few weeks ago and asked about quilting her 105" square quilt. We made arrangements for her to drop it off and I had a free evening last week so I started it and finished it the next day.

She chose the Popcorn pantograph and I used Omni - Little Boy Blue thread. She provided a rather thick poly batting that worked just fine.

Here's the whole quilt:

Stunning isn't it?   Here's a close up:

And of the quilting:

Draped over Mabel when it was finished:

She mentioned that there were over 100 blue fabrics used and I'm not sure how many of the neutrals and greens. Gives you a great idea of what to do with all those scraps!

Stephanie's Baby Quilt

Here's another baby quilt that Stephanie made.

Just as cute as the last one! She requested Bountiful Feathers as the panto and it quilted up just beautifully! Omni Pear White Thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Stephanie's Baby Quilt

A very cute baby quilt made by Stephanie. She wanted Popcorn panto in the center and something else in the border. I have had lots of requests for this kind of quilting lately....must be the new thing, and I don't mind quilting it that way at all.

Darling fabric line!

She made this table runner also and wanted something tropical.

I chose Aloha panto for this one.

Stephanie's Diamonds in the Rough

I finished this beautiful quilt made by Stephanie this week. It is going to be a gift for her parents 40th wedding anniversary.

She requested Bountiful Feathers, so I bought the pattern and I'm sure I will use it often. The pattern is listed as 13.5" and I knew that I would run into trouble with that size, so I requested it to be 11.5" and that's what they sent. It's so nice that they will do a custom size for you at no extra cost. I really appreciate it.

Hobbs 80/20 batting and Omni Pearl White thread.

Anyway, back to Stephanie's quilt. I did have a little issue, well, really a big issue....I broke a needle. I have heard of longarmers breaking needles and wondered how they did that. Well, let me tell you, it's pretty easy, I guess. I was happily quilting along and BANG...that broken titanium needle was piercing the fabric. I wasn't near a thick seam or anything else that would have caused it. It's still a mystery to me. Hopefully, she can make the needed repairs with the Bo-Nash that I sent with her quilt.

Stephanie's Table Topper...Finally!

It's been done for a couple days now, but I didn't get any full shots of it until today. Stephanie moved to Georgia in January. Hopefully, I'll still get to do some quilting for her.

This pretty table topper has line dancing in the center and freehand flowers and leaves in the outer border. The inner border has rotating leaves. Hobbs 80/20 batting and PermaCore eggshell thread.

Really a fun one to quilt!

Stephanie's Christmas Lap Quilt

What a cute quilt, but the fabrics are pretty busy, so I quilted it with the Echo Holly pantograph, green Permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Today, I'm off to New York to spend the holiday with my son and his wife. I hope the airports are not too bad.

I'm wishing all my blog friends a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday today to my wonderful daughter, Julie!

Stephanie's Table Toppers

Stephanie made these table toppers to give to her sisters, I believe. The backing fabric was purchased by her mother, long ago, to make a pants suit. I wasn't sure how it would work for the back, but I didn't have any problems at all. They are just under 40" square.

I quilted them all the same, with a feather meander in the center, loopy curve in the inner border and freehand flowers and leaves in the outer borders. Hobbs 80/20 of course, and So Fine tan on top and a white PermaCore bobbin.

And the back:

1 for Customers, 1 for Me!

That's what this past weekend was like. I quilted this oh-so cute baby quilt for Stephanie, using Popcorn pantograph and eggshell thread.

The colors are actually more subtle than my photos and it's absolutely cute-as-can-be.

And the back, which is a soft lavender:

Then, I quilted one of my own using the same panto and pink thread. This one is for Kendyll, the new daughter of one of my co-workers, Bryan.

Stephanie's Black, White and Red

What a great looking quilt. The red adds just the right burst of color to this one. She made it for her daughter.

Meandering Stars, bu Dave Hudson is the quilting design, white permacore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.

And the back, just as stunning as the front:

Happy Hour #2

I quilted Stephanie's pastel Happpy Hour last night and dropped it off at the quilt shop this morning. I think it turned out great and I hope she likes it.

I used a new panto, Hearts n Roses by Timeless Quilting, eggshell PermaCore thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting. I will certainly be using this panto again soon, as I really like it.

I applied the machine part of binding on 3 quilts this afternoon, so I'll have lots to do in the upcoming evenings.
