That’s how they get you to work multiple jobs for more hours to extract further value. If you are surviving then you are being paid the value of your labor power or being subsidized by family.

Labor power is not the same as labor. The price of labor power is the minimum cost of reproducing labor. That’s enough money to provide food, water, and shelter. The quality of your shelter is up for debate though. Effectively, the price of labor power is how much it cost for you to be able to come to work the next day. VPP covers the topic in detail

It’s small enough that I regularly interact with users I recognize and know a fair bit about but big enough that there are plenty of strangers. I like the radicalism too obviously. Best part is still the lack of ads though, can’t beat that.

4·2 days agoAssyria, the Maya, and a few Chinese dynasties are particularly notable imo. What scares me is the climate change they experienced was on a significantly smaller scale than us.
History of labor is what I really should teach but I would enjoy teaching a class on native American art.
There used to be a PSL pre-branch but it was just me and 3 other people. Fell apart unfortunately after some of us moved away. I think I am gonna wait until I am out of a highly conservative college town to do any real organizing.
