🏆 Part of The Mine Works' 149-actor portfolio · 40,000+ runs · 200,000+ results delivered across our full distribution stack · 99.9%+ success rate

💰 From $1.20 / 1,000 results.

⚡ One actor, three views: buy, rent and sold. No browser, no login.

💸 Pay only per property listing actually delivered.

realestate.com.au runs Kasada bot protection sitewide. This actor routes through Apify's own UNBLOCKER network, which clears Kasada's challenge server-side, no browser required.

You are only charged for a property that actually lands in your dataset. A blocked or empty page is never billed.

Overview

realestate.com.au is one of the two major real estate portals in Australia, alongside Domain, and this actor turns any suburb search into structured rows: price, bedrooms, bathrooms, parking, property type, agent and agency, with photos.

Give it one or more suburb and state searches, such as "Chatswood, NSW 2067", choose buy, rent or sold, and it returns the listings realestate.com.au itself would show for that search.

Covers buy, rent and sold in one actor ✅ · Price parsed to a number where possible ✅ · Agent and agency captured on every row ✅ · MCP ready for AI agents ✅

Why this doesn't need a real browser

realestate.com.au is protected by Kasada, one of the more thorough bot management systems in production use, and this was measured directly before choosing a transport. A plain request routed directly (or through a generic proxy) against the search pages is met with Kasada's sensor challenge shell rather than the real page. Apify's UNBLOCKER proxy group solves that challenge on its own infrastructure before the response ever reaches this actor, so a plain HTTP request gets back the fully rendered page, no browser process, no stealth plugin, no headed Chromium session to keep alive. That is faster and cheaper than a browser for exactly the same result.

Common use cases

Market research. Track asking prices and property mix in a suburb across the buy, rent and sold views.

Buyer and investor alerts. Run on a schedule against a shortlist of suburbs and price bands to catch new listings the day they go live.

Rental market tracking. Switch to the rent view to build a live weekly rent benchmark for a suburb rather than relying on a quarterly report.

Sold price research. The sold view gives a real, recent comparables set for valuation work.

AI agents. Feed live realestate.com.au listings into an agent that answers "what is actually on the market in Chatswood right now under 1.5 million?"

Pricing

EventPriceYou pay when
Property delivered$0.002A property lands in your dataset
Actor Start$0.005Once per run start, scaling with memory (one event per GB, minimum one)

The property price is tiered by your Apify plan: $0.002 on Free, $0.0018 Bronze, $0.0016 Silver, $0.0012 Gold and above. That is $2.00 per 1,000 properties on the Free plan. A search that returns nothing costs nothing.

Run it on a schedule

  1. Run once with the locations you want repeated, then click Save as a task.
  2. In the Apify Console go to Schedules, Create new.
  3. Pick a frequency and attach the saved task.
  4. Wire the dataset to Sheets, Slack or a webhook from the Integrations tab.

Deduplicate on listing_id so a repeated schedule only surfaces genuinely new listings.

FAQ

Do I need a realestate.com.au account? No. The actor reads realestate.com.au's own public search results only.

Does this actor use a browser or a residential proxy? No. Requests go out as plain HTTP through Apify's UNBLOCKER network, which handles Kasada's challenge on its own side. That keeps this actor's cost, and its price, low.

Does buy, rent and sold all work the same way? Yes, the listingType input switches between them and the output shape is the same, though a sold listing typically shows a sold price rather than an asking price in price_label.

Why did I get fewer properties than my cap? Because the search has fewer matching listings, your filters narrowed the results, or the result set was exhausted before the cap. The run reports what it actually found rather than padding the count.

Use from Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP agent

Hosted MCP endpoint, no install, OAuth on first connect:

https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/realestate-com-au-scraper

Claude Desktop / Cursor config (token auth):

{
"mcpServers": {
"realestate-au": {
"url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=themineworks/realestate-com-au-scraper",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" }
}
}
}

Ask your agent: "What sold recently in [suburb] that I can use as comparables for a property with 4 bedrooms?"

Or call it programmatically:

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('themineworks/realestate-com-au-scraper').call({
locations: ['Chatswood, NSW 2067'],
listingType: 'buy',
maxItemsPerLocation: 40,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
