I added the Session repo to F-Droid, installed the official app, created an account and joined a community.
I didn’t get asked once to donate.
The app is or should be the primary communications interface between Session and it’s users. Have they made appeals through the app before? Is it technically possible for them to do so?
I just opened Session and I got the message about the 90-day shutdown

I thought Session was decentralized and couldn’t be centrally shut down 🤔

one of the main delta chat devs had a crashout on mastodon over people rightfully calling him out for using an AI generated goth girl to advertise delta chat.
I mean Idk if he uses AI generated art to advertise his free app. If a volunteer wants to make it instead that would be cool, but we are trying to figure how to avoid mass survelice without being subjected to a divide and conquer strategy of atomization, so shrug the concept art generator is low on my list of concerns there.
I mean did he throw slurs or something like that during his crash out that would be a serious red flag for a project to me.
Damn in that case I guess I’ll switch to Whatsapp /s
