25·21 hours agowhat european made parts? panels at 30ct/W instead of 14ct/W?
10kW Inverters with half the features of a Chinese Counterpart for 2.500€ instead of 780€?
The EU should work on the pricing of European Stuff if they really care. European Companies were all bought up by Chinese Companies.
Inverter Companies like SMA have massive layoffs and the ONLY company that produces panels in Europe is Meyer-Burger.
Work on saving the market. This is just another roadblock in the much needed switch to renewables.
If you care about safety, run them in their own network and use Tailscale.
or what the banderites did to poland…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•In your opinion, is space exploration necessary?
10·5 days agoyes. space exploration advanced technological progress in breakneck speed and gave us more tools to make our home a better place.
humans want to break new boundaries, crossing the oceans used to be an unprecedented endeavour and after mastering it the whole world the gained ability to interact.
the amount of resources needed to collectively reach for the stars is there and if done properly we can explore space without worsening people’s lives. to put it into perspective: a falcon 9 launch costs about 70 million us $, that’s already cheaper than one f35 or 20 tomahawk missiles.
the space race led to the apollo-soyuz program which invited rivals to work together, there`s a beauty in the fact that the need to explore the unknown and work together can transcend even rivalries. The ISS is a monument to that.
imo we (as in humanity) should continue space exploration, but we should ideally not exploit it for capital gain. we should use the useful technology that comes out of it to make life better on our planet. (e.g. GPS, geostationary satellites and and and…)
sure, this field is currently dominated by a circle of pedophiles and nazis (that nazi part has always been part of space flight history for americans >.> ) but the world is currently changing and i see some hope in chinas rapid advancement in this field. they built the tianggong space station and they invited everyone to collectively conduct research in the future. The Artemis Program has been good so far, only now it’s held back due to private contractors not delivering on the moon landing craft.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How quick are you to block someone on Lemmy?
5·5 days agoi never blocked anyone on lemmy, i think you’d need to actively seek out to harass me to get me to block you.
blocking someone about a disagreement in a silly internet argument makes the small fediverse even smaller for me. maybe the person i argued with while i was on the toilet has the worst political takes but they post beautiful art i wouldn’t wanna miss, that kind of stuff yknow.
i also like drama and some people just like to be constantly wrong or deliberately agitate, which is rather entertaining 😈
i used to believe that too but there´s several things you need to question about these claims.
Like - stocking a store with fake food to impress tourists sounds like it´s straight from a cartoon.
or
why do these outlandish claims about “family executions for wrongthink” only originate from either defectors who need to make a living with sensationalist claims or stuff like radio free asia (US Intelligence funded) citing one of their ‘anonymous sources’
The DPRK certainly has issues, but first you need to establish which of these issues are baseless claims and which aren’t. You always need to ask: who made that claim?
I can highly recommend the book ‘Traitor’s guide to North Korea’ by the Norwegian Artist Morten Traavik, he is fairly ‘apolitical’ (if that`s even possible) and tells about his work as a cultural ambassador who worked close with North Korean People. His work peaked when he arranged a Laibach concert in Pyongyang. He demystifies the DPRK and shows that they´re still people with a slightly different outlook on the world stemming from how the world treated them.

at this point this statement is either ignorant and/or racist.
