That’s actually crazy because windows these days actually defaults to formatting drives in exfat lmao

Full native cross compatibility with basically everything modern, if you need a drive to work between Linux, Mac and windows or even a device like a Blu-ray player that’s exfat
It’s fat32, but better and without that annoying 4GB file limitation

I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don’t want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.

And so so much documentation on clear heavy handed censorship and bias also on the link. So much I can’t even put them all here because this comment would be really long.
I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda
On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like “Lemmy? Isn’t that the place with a bunch of tankies?” Or “Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left”. The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.

They are aware of what goes on here, so I suspect for larger threads they let some things that they can “live with” go so there isn’t comment after comment with “Removed by moderator”, or you just got lucky and it was missed.
We’ve been trying, very few of the Lemmy instances defederate from .ml even if many defederate from the rest of the Triad because of support and the devs would take it personally (which I mean, fair, given dessalines behavior that has been documented thus far I wouldn’t put it past him at all to refuse to help on things for an instance that had the gall to defederate from his)
So it’s either boycott or move to PieFed
It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so damaging
I have seen them, completely unironically, try to use a US State department link as evidence that the Uyghur genocide wasn’t happening (Even though only it’s title made it seem like that, if they had actually read it it concluded that it just wasn’t the “kill everyone” kind of genocide, but the “kill their culture” kind)
