Weirdly, both are kind of true. You should be pissed, but he is also right, he just shouldn’t have said it. Think of it this way, though, a supervisor usually makes more than the people they supervise even though by definition they often do less of the actual work. Same with management. Getting other people motivated (if he actually does do that) is worth something. On the other hand,if you’re really doing twice as much work, you may literally just be overworking or should find another job where that is actually useful.

10·6 days agoFrank Zappa and Christopher Hitchens. Maybe not personally, but i really feel like there are some losses that the world doesn’t realize.
How horrible that people have to support a platform just to cross check on the blathering of a dementia patient.
Not to mock dementia patients at all, it is a horrible thing to have to go through, but literally the same thing one might have to do to keep track of an elderly relative to make sure they aren’t signing over the title to their house or sending their monthly income to Nigeria.
Unfortunately it can only be resurrected in the same way Jesus was. Someone has to hallucinate seeing a positive balance and then over the next few millenia several million people have to just take his word for it.
May be worth recommending that he starts of by claiming that a few hundred other people also saw it, but not mention their names or anything about how they saw it. Also best to wait a couple decades before writing any of it down.
I literally broke an accidental streak of not logging into x for like a year to make sure the last three ‘screenshots’ of trump weren’t real, including this one. Seriously though, was the ‘praise Allah’ one real or not? I honestly can’t tell for sure if it’s satire or just something one of his handlers deleted.

2·1 month agoGod i hope the fact that they refuse to call this a war ruins his plan of election interference where he claims we can’t have elections ‘as normal’ because ‘we’re in the middle of a war’. Wartime act to insist on weapons production? Nope, not at war!
You know what? Now it’s even holier. Everyone who thinks it’s important gets an all expense paid trip to the suddenly ‘super effective at getting you to heaven quicker’ land.
You know what kind of person doesn’t have to tell people they are intelligent?

So does every plant and animal on earth. However he solves the ‘water contains milk’ issue, the toilet problems aren’t going to be of any concern.

Right, it would be started basically exactly the opposite. Certainly not a statement followed by an if block.
Those would all start with the if, followed by two conditions, not a statement and then an if. There would be a condition to evaluate, followed by then/else?
Maybe it’s just worse when written. The period at the end of the sentence makes it hard to see how it could be misunderstood.
To your point though, not sure if I’m aware of any programming language that would continue a statement with a following if block. Far more likely that it would fail due to lack of an element to apply the 6 to rather than having a pointer to the previous object, or he would try getting what ever the literal version of a 6 would be, or maybe some slang version.

20·3 months agoThat is true, but it is also fair to point out that you are proposing solidarity with someone who voted for fully supporting these negative things happening to other people, even if there was only a vague sense of what that might mean, and is specifically upset now that it unexpectedly turned around on him and his circle. We have to stand with and support someone we might have to fully expect to continue doing the exact same thing as the opportunity arise.
It’s true his interests overlap our own, and raising everyone up is in our best interests, but just realize that we want to give liferafts to people who would prefer to poke holes in the liferafts of others. We want to save people who are acting like spoiled, entitled children and who we have no reason to believe will act any different after they’ve been saved. Just understand that afterwards we need a system that will survive this type of behavior.
From the squiggly lines coming from their heads, my current guess is that it’s like sometime dropping their heads into their hands after working hard on something just to see it carelessly ruined and knowing they’re expected to just do it again, like a bunch of workers spending all day putting up a brick wall and then someone backing into it with a car.

News@lemmy.world•Florida man kills wife, shoots stepdaughter after fight over NFL game: Don't shoot me'
1·4 months agoThat does make sense, but seems like if that was a component of the situation it might have been mentioned, but it references him going in to finish watching the game in the living room. Sounds a whole lot more like a drinking thing and less likely to be about ‘what’ he was pissed off about.
