Haven’t noticed any issue. That said overtightening the top screw does cause the button cover to warp a bit.

11·5 months agoBeing poor sucks.
No kidding. This didn’t ruin me but it was painful. And on top of that, it’s smaller disks for significantly more than I did last year.
I bought them for years ahead. My primary pool is gonna start having drives fail from age and use, and it’ll need replacements. So I’m gonna be sticking these in as they fail over time so I use all the service life I can get from the existing (8TB) drives.

4·8 months agoAre you familiar with the process of unequal exchange? It doesn’t require to have or to have had colonies and it doesn’t preclude former colonies from engaging in it. It doesn’t even require a particular country gov’t policy.

Write another reply to my comment in a few weeks to ask how the real world testing on cellular has gone. I’ll get a notification and reply.
Buddy, I’m in Torontario guy. Bought from Clove UK for 1016 Canadian peso final-final, after DHL blood sacrifice.
Freedom. The only band it lacks for their Torontario network is band 13. I decided to risk it because Freedom used to run the network without band 13 until a few years ago. So I reason the coverage without it should be similar to the before time. That means a bit of a downgrade in signal and probably battery, given that band 13 is lower power, longer range fequency. But then again the FP’s modem is Qualcomm so it may end up being more power efficient than the turd in my Pixel. So I decided to try it out.
Ontario, Canada. Ordered from Clove UK. Stock Fairphone OS.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Debian 13 burning 10W playing 4K YouTube video on a Framework with max brightness 🫨
22·8 months agoMostly yes but there are functional differences in convenience. For example the standard upgrade process is completely manual. You have to disable third party repos. You have to change the repos. You have to check if you have space. You have to remove obsolete oackages. And more. On Ubuntu, the software update tool does all that, eliminating a lot of possibility for error. To an exoerienced user, the Debian process is fine. A novice would have plenty of opportunity for frustration and pain.
