5·3 days agoI’ve been thinking similar thoughts. I don’t want my life to devolve into managing the fallout from the torrent of slop. Perhaps it’s not too late to switch to geophysics. Those guys get to do fieldwork.

What ever happened to flow batteries? They were supposed to be the really cheap low density option for grid storage.

1·9 days agoI’d have to look it up, but I expect it’s either the Danish Krone directly, or like the Faroe Islands where they print their own which are directly exchangeble for the Danish one.

6·10 days agoIt would if Greenland were in the EU. And it’s odd that it isn’t. But Greenland isn’t “part of” Denmark. They form a union along with the Faroe Islands and chose to leave the EU.

Grazie.
Surprised it described itself as a war crime and didn’t try to justify that.
It is not sentient. It has no sense of self or guilt or any of that. It’s just writing back the most likely next word given the question and whatever context it has. It seems to have the leaked code in context? Or it could be bullshitting.

Yeah, one specific genetic defect. They’re looking into others now so hopefully this is just the start.

Someone worked out it was a bit over 9 Trusses. So perhaps 7 heads?
As someone who moved downhill from there, yes, I’d agree. But things weren’t always like this, and when Americans say “Italian”, they really mean “someone whose great grand parents may have been Italian. At least some of them.”
Which would make sense if those Italians were from the Aosta Valley, since food and other culture doesn’t stop hard at the border. But I’m betting they’re not.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Paul McCartney banned from Reddit after posting photos from his own concert
3·16 days agoThat’s the thing, it isn’t “his.” Nothing a worker creates under capitalism belongs to them. His music is a product, and that product belongs to the corporation that owns the rights.
Putting your anti-capitalist rant aside for a moment, Paul McCartney does own the rights to his own music. He is in an entirely different negotiating position from some hopeful new artist being offered a record deal.
This particular hill was taken “up” but any climb is fine if you can go slowly enough.

Yeah. I’ve spent (shock, horror) 25+ years resisting being moved “up” to management. Maybe the jig is just up and I’ll be managing a horde of idiot savant bots.
I guess I could deal with much of the characters on the screen being auto generated if I’m directing the data structures and stuff but…
