Ashbringer's feel for songwriting on this album is one that few of their contemporaries can match. There are some crushing riffs here, but I think they're at their best when they let their folk influences guide their metal default.
As peterbur has already said, the minimal production allows everything else to shine, but I can't help but think that a remaster of the drums, maybe with some room reverb and a bit more volume on the kick, would've opened this album up to the audience it deserves.
