  8. The New Sound
    by Geordie Greep
Through a War Through a War
Reminds me of Jim O'Rourke, who happens to be one of my favorite artists. I was blown away upon discovering this incredible album. Every track is fantastic. The instrumentation, masterful, and the storytelling, so vivid. Terra for example is such a joy to listen to on the surface, but the meaning in the lyrics makes it one of my favorite songs ever. The desperation for love and devotion woven throughout this album is so beautifully tragic, yet comical somehow. It's surreal and fun. AOTY.

This band was meant for me.
  14. Planet Of Ice
    by Minus the Bear
    Knights Knights
This album literally changed my life. A decade ago, it got me to pick up a guitar and start playing, and opened me up to a whole new world of music. Not sure if I could ever recreate the magic made here, though.
  15. Tales Of The Bubblegum Brainz
    by Part Time
The Legend Of The Mind The Legend Of The Mind
Part Time is magic. This album cover is also way too cool.
  16. Insignificance
    by Jim O'Rourke
You know music is good when you've never heard it before but it somehow feels familiar and nostalgic.
  17. Eureka
    by Jim O'Rourke
Best record ever. Sort of has a post-rock flair similar to The Six Parts Seven. Love the instrumentals and ambience.
"Love Liza" also has the best soundtrack ever.

  19. Vague Enough to Satisfy
    by Philip Frobos
    Inflatable Flamingo Inflatable Flamingo
Such a cool project. Like Omni, the music is very unique and original. Reminds me of soundtracks for Napoleon Dynamite and the rockstar video game, Bully (while still being very much its own thing, of course). The book was also fantastic, and as someone with a low attention span who never reads, that really says something. So thanks for helping me discover a new medium, Philip. I freakin' love your work and hope to meet you again at another Omni show soon.
  20. Jersey Devil
    by Ducktails
Wearing a Mask Wearing a Mask
This is the first Ducktails album that I listened to and it's all I needed to hear to become a mega fan.
