    Bird is slang for women.

I can only imagine Bee is for men because “penis = stinger?” 🤷‍♂️

What if I ain’t got no penis due to an unfortunate gold smelting accident?

Traditionally birds = women because they make nests

Bees = men because they pollinate.

Please do disregard the fact that bees make hives/nests AND birds pollinate

Right, but male birds are usually the “pretty” ones because they have to impress the females with their display, and bees are all female, so it seems like a terribly inaccurate metaphor, if we can even call it that

Yes. I pointed that out in my original comment also.

Since birds pollinate and bees make nests, it as youve pointed out sexual dimorphism in birds tends to have them as the pretty ones.

              It’s a weak metaphor

They both do both, lol. Not arguing with you by the way. I’ve just never heard this as a thing before other than the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the moon up above… I assume it vaguely comes from that maybe, but I’ve never heard men and women as birds and bees or whatnot

Yeah the talk kids get is often called “the birds and the bees”

The birds are used to signify mommy making her nest and laying an egg and bees “pollinate flowers”

It’s a metaphor for little kids.

The scientific aspects of the species are moot because it’s a very basic metaphor for how sexy times works.

I’d also like to note that because of how ambiguously and interchangeably everything fits in the analogy I’m POSITIVE the version I’m familiar with is not the only version so it could likely be flip flopped elsewhere.

Worker bees are female. Male bees only hang around the queen for sex.

Normally bees are female, right? Worker drones are sterile female, and only when it’s queen swarm time do males get hatched.

But honestly, as long as the stalls are enclosed, who the hell cares? We all have to do our business, and it doesn’t matter who is in the room or other stalls.

A guy who wants to creep is not going to be stopped by a sign.

Maybe he will sit at a table and track who goes in and out of women’s room and wait till there is no one in there, to go to “the wrong door by accident” and hide in stall.

A sign won’t stop them. Punishment will…if you experience that report it. Get them arrested. If they try to make it physical punch scream kick scratch.

Its like locking your car doors. A car thief is likely to just break the window. Or just steal your catalytic converter.

It makes you feel safe but doesn’t prevent crime.

I kind love these. It’s a little taste for the rest of us what a few of us must feel almost every time they enter a public bathroom.

I ran into one and I felt afraid I would be judged for choosing a room that others didn’t expect me to.

So I rehearsed a quick meaningless apology and took a guess.

No one actually bothered me, but it was still a little stressful.

And then I thought, “Oh, that’s what it feels like.”

I also learned the same place had plenty of other bathrooms clearly labeled in a “for use by anyone” manner. So I guess if I had chickened out, I could still have found those.
