Thanks for the info, I’ll keep an eye out. Knowing the term will be very helpful so thank you for that.

Did you read the post?

To be clear, I do not personally have to means to do this. Let’s just say that if this entire thing is left up to me, there’s no way it’ll ever get completed. I have some health problems that would almost certainly delay things indefinitely, and anything that would cost money or require someone to know their local community is completely outside of my means.
That said, thanks for sharing the idea. I’d also say that you can sometimes find old lino blocks at antique stores and those sorts of places are usually more than happy to accept cash.

That’s funny, I just wrote a comment about the Iraq thing in my other comment, probably while you were writing this, lol. And yeah, I meant “Trading Cards” more in the common vernacular sense, it would be far more effective if they were distributed as a complete set.
Either way, I’m not going to be pitching this to anyone outside of Lemmy. Again, this is where I want to remain anonymous. Anyone involved with any such project would do well to stay hidden, as they may become targets. Call me paranoid, but I’d rather be safe than disappeared.

OP here again.
I also recall this exact strategy was used during the Iraq War, where US soldiers were given trading cards of Iraq officials and high-value targets to help soldiers learn to identify them. Knowledge is power.
Another sort of tangential thought: Are there any DIY woodworking / metalshop people out there know how to make an old-fashioned printing press? Like, the ones with a hand crank? If you have the means and the desire to do this, bringing back the Gutenberg style press would mean a means of printing information that can’t be traced to any specific printer or computer tech, and heat sensors wouldn’t be able to pick it up from outside as they could with electronic devices. Bringing back old school tech could be very helpful to create and distribute information anonymously, plus by creating it in physical form it can easily be photographed and posted online.

I bet if they added a tier that allowed you to visit Daniel Ek and kick him square in the junk that would be pretty popular.

Follow up to this post: In the video, Glover makes reference to a man named Mr. Far, followed by a shot of himself wearing the outfit he wore on a (sort of) famous episode of David Letterman. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm2CbuTdTtE The episode aired on July 28, 1987, and the “Clowny Clown Clown” music video is from 1989, according to the video in the OP. Also, Mr. Farr’s full name is Rubin Farr, and Glover played him in the movie Rubin & Ed (1991), which I have not seen but I think I probably will now.

I kind of like that Bandcamp allows proper embedding with the track.

Hey, thanks for the assist. I got it working just fine, I’m really impressed with the function. Been using qB for years and had no idea this thing was even there. This is a real game changer, thanks again.

Excuse my ignorance but I can’t find the search function in qB that you’re talking about. Assuming I have downloaded the most recent version of qB, where would I find it?

Soulseek is typically for music but I’ve found D&D pdfs there too.

Yeah, I recently used Soulseek for the first time and it’s been great but those chat rooms are shit. Honestly though I’m not using it for chat so after I checked it out and made the same discovery you did, I decided there was nothing to gain there anyway.
Piracy in general is a pretty mixed bag but I don’t think those chatrooms represent the community at large. Usually the worst thing people in this community do is just refuse to be helpful. And there are a lot of very generous people who keep this whole thing going.

Thank you, this seemed to have worked. I appreciate that you took the time to make that.
I did the same thing but if you read the post that’s not what I’m asking for.
