You’d be surprised how social cats are. They don’t necessarily hate each other, at least not all of them. What they consider friendly and social among each other might be hard for us to notice.

I have more animals I can count and my bf next door has more - cats, dogs, poultry, pigs, sheep, donkeys, horses all move around among each other. Nobody here has behavioural problems, and even interspecies communication is quite non-aggressive and smooth. Having enough space to get out of each other’s way is important, and having enough space in general. When I see how urban pets are kept I get depressed - isolation, boredom, narrow spaces. Of course they go mental!

Zur Zeit hinterfrage ich sehr, wieviel ich denn überhaupt von der Welt wissen will und muss. Ich habe ja nicht um die Globalisierung gebeten, sie wurde mir aufgezwungen. Es kann natürlich sein, dass ich bei einer kompletten Nachrichtenverweigerung dann etwas Wichtiges nicht mitkriege, z.B. dass nun laut einem neuen Gesetz jeder Bürger auf der Straße eine Propellermütze tragen muss. Und dann latsche ich halt zum monatlichen Einkauf ins Städtchen und werde verhaftet wegen fehlender Propellermütze. Abgesehen von solchen Situationen sind Nachrichten ja größtenteils Propaganda. Ist es wichtig, dass ich weiß, welche Entschuldigung sich die Mächtigen diese Woche für die hohen Lebensmittel- und Spritpreise ausgedacht haben? Nicht wirklich, bezahlen muss die Scheiße ja trotzdem.

Ich versuche, so viel Energie und Aufmerksamkeit wie möglich ins Positive zu leiten. Schön in der Sonne sitzen, Haustiere streicheln. Mit den Kids spielen. Lecker Kochen, lecker Essen. Und halt all die Skills aufbauen, die man in einer allmählich zusammenbrechenden Gesellschaft so braucht: Gärtnern, DIY, Gemeinschaftskram - auch hier mit Sinn für den Spaß und das Positive, nicht in Angst. Sterben tun wir eh alle irgendwann.
