woodypatof In my humble opinion Bard is the first BBT album on which you can hear what the band would become later. It was not their first CD I bought (Gathering Speed an album I still love) but soon after, Bard became my favorite BBT record (surpassed by The Underfall Yard a few years later). Can't wait to hear how this reissue will sound.
Update: I'm really glad I purchased this new version of Bard. Can't believe how great it sounds. At times it's almost like listening to a new album. Highly recommended

wisetrap11 i've always loved this album but knowing how much everyone including the band themselves underrated it made me think this reissue would never happen. i'm so glad to be proven wrong though-- the remix breathes more space into the songs and makes them even more emotionally potent than before. in spite of what i put as my favorite track i love A Short Visit To Earth just as much thanks to martin read's heartbreaking performance. hopefully this album being more available will cause a reappraisal. Favorite track: Broken English.

larrylegend8 if this wasn't a reissue this would be in the talks of album of the year for sure! the production of the remix is so good it easily fits into today's prog scene!! like fine wine.... sounds better as it ages especially 23 yrs later!! 😎✌️ Favorite track: For Winter.

Bard was originally released in 2002. After a limited CD pressing, the album was deleted and has remained unavailable. Bard has now been remixed from the original sessions by Rob Aubrey and we are pleased to make it available again on CD, vinyl and Bandcamp download. Bard will not be released on streaming or other download services.

The Bandcamp version includes a PDF of the album booklet, including new sleeve notes by Andy Stuart.

Excellent album, especially the title track. Very complex arrangements with definite hints of Renaissance. I'd love to see Annie Haslam wander on stage to join Christina Booth on the title track.
