Such failing queries would not run unless the Query Processing property was set to "Local Limited" in the report Query properties. This forces the query processing to occur in the Cognos application and not on the database, which is inefficient for large amounts of data. In the test environment, the Query Processing property in the Sybase IQ data sources were set to "Database only" to try to force all processing to occur on the database. This issue is open with Cognos Tech Support as 3329126.

Workaround: Cognos provided hotfix build 1.1.414.50 to help to resolve this issue. Additionally, as described in Test Note 19, the Sybase IQ meta data had to be imported into Framework Manager without primary and foreign keys defined and with the Runtime Activities option to Allow cross-product joins in the Edit Governors option of Framework Manager projects that contain Sybase IQ data, as described in the steps 5 and 10 of the section "Use the Meta Data Wizard to Import Sybase IQ Data into Framework Manager" earlier in this report.
