LIKE WEEDS returns to Brachliegen with BOG STANDARD — 30 minutes of sludge metal electronics which continues the project’s reflection on the state sanctioned decay corroding the fabric of the UK. Following on from NO TRACE AT ALL on the Request Stop compilation and 2022’s LEFT BEHIND, harsh head Kenny Sanderson (FACIALMESS, OUR WRONGS) is back on Brachliegen with another crushing slab of brutal machine-dub.

Sparse and harsh in equal measure, LIKE WEEDS arranges Trogtronic machines masterfully across six tracks of rhythmic industrial noise, slammed through the creditless leccy metre, and broadcasting out into the austerity ravaged British landscape. Bone crushing kicks and stabs of electronics reverberate along the park-and-ride and down the failing high street, before descending into the edgelands, where the streetlights have been flickering for decades. With the farce of a UK general election just round the corner — and the spineless vultures beginning to prune their rosettes and monger their fear — LIKE WEEDS reminds us that they don’t care for us, they never did.

Neglected for years by those in power, BOG STANDARD renews LIKE WEEDS’ hostility against the great uncaring machine of late capitalism and a vampiric state which has consumed local communities' lifeblood until there were only husks remaining. Laid bare and desolated by predation, LIKE WEEDS exhumes what’s left and processes it into harsh and hostile resistance.
