Drew Music Even given what a fuckin phenomenal year for extreme metal 2026 has been, but this one stands out on multiple levels. Some of the most/best balanced post black metal instrumentation I've heard in a minute, and holistically the intense and multifaceted vocal attack is just 🤌

Cold and crushing, except when it's warm and cuddly, and ridiculously enjoyable at all times, it's straight to the short list for this one! Favorite track: Dissociate.

moipoi I listened to this on Apple Music and was so blown away that I bought the album. This is probably going to be the album of my life. Can't wait for your future work

LeanderSeelenPuls This band is really great, atmospheric post black metal with interesting female vocals, both harsh and clean (even choirs).

The only downside is how new songs are released, e.g. I bought Wildfire, thinking it would be the new EP, but then the real album gets released later with the same songs already on Wildfire...so you pay multiple times for the same songs.

Nervosa 08:08
Phantom hands trace my skin I'm counting ribs to sleep again The weary paths are warm below Faraway clouds dappled with snow From a distance, you know Those roads are aglow Do you wish you’d taken the time to catch your breath? To wave goodbye to all you had left? I'm walking blind through countless threads Trying to find the end of dread If I stop for a second I just exist in meaningless days Is this all there is? Fragments of tormented hosts Singing songs to forlorn ghosts Fragments of tormented hosts Singing songs to forlorn Fragments of tormented hosts Singing songs to forlorn ghosts That never wanted to come back home

The Guide 08:51
Through sunburned meadows With trailing chains And prowling shadow cats A pale coat of glassy silver Split light across the glade In streams of painted moonlight Where gentle petals waved Soft insect voices Rose as hymns “Please love you We promise to love you back If we can give you everything And take nothing you have left Please love you We promise to love you back You will keep the best of it And we will hold the rest” They gave rise to dancers With multicoloured skins That taught me how to fly “Please love you We can give you everything” “I don't deserve love I carry this blame It eats at my stomach I'm always ashamed Another round With nothing to show An eternal cycle Learning nothing at all Will I die before I learn to let go?”

Integrate 03:25
Fading in and out Breathing silence Collapse into your mind I've lost myself Breathe you in and out Collapse into your sun Glide through inky waters I'm losing my mind Floating in circles Trying to see your back And every life you left behind Consumes my every thought I know that you'll be free one day I'll take away your pain Hoping you'll come back home Swallowing your guilt Cower in your demise I'll catch your breath And all that's yours I'll catch your fall And all that's yours
4.
Dissociate 07:18
I won't feel alone In a room full of friends I know I'll be free one day When I've got nothing left to lose Or maybe I'm just hoping That one day I'll come home I’ll stop running in circles Trying to see my back And every life I left behind I’ll stop running in circles Trying to see my back And every life I left behind Will just be a passing thought Or maybe it’s all for nothing I’ll stop running in circles Trying to see my back And every life I left behind Will just be a passing thought I won't collapse Into fresh fears every morning I’ll stop running in circles Trying to see my back And every life I left behind I’ll stop running in circles Trying to see my back And every life I left behind Will just be a passing thought Or maybe it’s all for nothing I know I'll be free one day When I've got nothing left to lose I have everything to lose Maybe it’s all for nothing And I've already lost it all Maybe I'm just hoping That one day I'll come home

Retrace 08:43
Retrace your steps Through dying embers Of fiery paths You'll always remember I'll catch you from The mouth of death Cross through fire Take a breath Even if I reach Salvation from grief I'll always be A version of me You'll see me standing Bright and bold Beneath a sky of grey Pale and old Your skin will burn And black your eyes Through smoke and tears You'll hear my cries I've been silent all along I hide from shame I never left those rooms I swallow the guilt I never left the dark I cower in death I live faceless This life Lived once before Through every form You are one I'll cleanse your wounds Redress your skin Place my hands beneath your sins "Retrace your steps Retrieve your cause He'll catch your breath But not what's yours" I'll cleanse your wounds Redress your skin Place my hands beneath your sins "Retrace your steps Retrieve your cause He'll catch your breath But not what's yours"

Wildfire 06:13
The biggest reason I can see Is just how beautiful life can be When dreams and thoughts unwind And leave the world behind I don’t want to fade Into misery I want to dance with synergy From now until the end of time Between happiness and pain In the end, they’re both one and the same A fleeting moment on this plain The wildfires I can tame And the wilderness I can find When I leave the trail behind Where starlight mountains shine Beneath my sky divine I don’t want to fade Into misery I want to dance with synergy I want to run Along a crooked line And celebrate her life and mine From now until the end of time

about

Wilderness narrates the dissociative fragmentation of the self in the aftermath of life-altering trauma. The album weaves through a wild forest of pain, codependency and existential rumination, before arriving at a confrontation and integration. Each track explores a different psychological response to suffering, from compulsive numbing to desperate searches for meaning. The album was written during intense periods of pain and recovery, and reflects a personal journey in understanding, surviving and ultimately integrating experiences that once felt unlivable. Wilderness gives a voice to the parts of us we never tell anyone.

The album was recorded in the band’s ELM Studio over a number of years. It was mixed and mastered by Ethan Bishop.
