I updated my BIOS yesterday. Is my phone listening to me?

2·1 day agoSpecific to the “at the Pentagon” part, and leaving all the rest aside, many US military installations have a chapel that can be reserved for any type of religious activity.

Technology@lemmy.world•Linux lays down the law on AI-generated code, says yes to Copilot, no to AI slop, and humans take the fall for mistakes — after months of fierce debate, Torvalds and maintainers come to an agreementEnglish
3·6 days agoBecause even using AI as a tool and having a human review it still means the code the LLM output could have come from non GPL sources.
I get why they are passing this by though, since you don’t know the provenance of that Stack Overflow snippet, either.

Kavita is multiuser, each with their own progress sync. https://wiki.kavitareader.com/getting-started/
Now do tell, is it page 10 on a 5" 800x480 eink display with 48px font size and giant margins/lineheights/word paddings, or is it page 10 on a 13" display of 2480x1860 resolution with 11px font size and barely any margins
Again, it’s a protocol and developer discression can be used. Page 10 could be word 10, or word 1000/avg 10 words = 10. PSE can be used to store progress, without needing to request the page because the eBook is local. It could be any API format.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Fox News doc says not enough ’15 to 19′ year-olds are having kids: ‘The fertility is down’English
25·7 days agoAs another commentor pointed out in the article thee thread, yea, he says these words, but that’s not what it seems like he means, or even some Freudian slip.
He’s talking about the problem with the numbers, and happens to start with the teenage statistic, immediately moving on the young adults and then the “why” behind it.
So many crazies on TV, this guy doesn’t seem like one of them (other than agreeing to be on FOX).

1·7 days agoEven in the most nerdy of nerdville, there are nerdier nerds than nerds can imagine. They don’t run uBlock, for they run NoScript.
Sometimes the visual example doesn’t work well when describing math. So an alternate:
Pick a number 1 - 10. 8. Correct and accurate.
Pick a number 1 - 10. 3.1415926535. Uhh, precise, but not accurate.
Or:
Accurate is drilling the hole in the middle. Precise is picking the exact right size drill bit.

4·7 days agoMy industry has a lot of Apple laptop users for the reasons you mention. Every time I pull out my Zenbook Duo, I hear converts in the making. Sure, it’s a bit thick, but it runs Linux great and has two monitors in a portable platform with a good battery.
It was the quick shift to “very handsome” without a pronoun modifier.
Linguistics ftw!

Yea not sure why they don’t do that by default since they claim they are a Slack competitor. You’d think a corporate entity would want that.

They use the PS extension. I believe Komga and Kavita maintain the spec now. Reader support for Kavita specifically is in the Wiki.
