Hey Ford beat Ferrari in Le Mans
That’s because studded tires should only be used on ice. Even in winter on dry roads studded tires have worse traction than even all season tires do. Realistically very few people should even own studded tires because stud less winter tires are just better in most situations.
Winter tires are not just about the snow. They have better dry traction in the cold as well.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the craziest thing your pet thinks you can control?
30·7 months agoThe rain. My dog will ask to go out, see it’s raining when I open the door and give me this pleading look. He has a raincoat but if it’s raining heavily it’s not really enough.

News@lemmy.world•Only 54% of U.S. adults say they drink alcohol, a record low. A new poll shows what's behind the decline.
31·8 months agoIf you don’t trigger any effects
OK and what about for the people who one drink does trigger an effect?
a single drink for most adults
Again, what about for the people who it does? You’re being quite absolute here. What I’m saying is you cannot use amount alone to determine whether or not it’s problematic. You said it yourself, it’s a factor. You originally used it as a determinant.
So no, that is not in fact how addiction works. I’ve spent the last 10 years studying psychology and I’m a PhD student in the field now.

51·8 months agoThat’s not how addiction works. Firstly, addiction is not a defined term in the medical or psychological fields so the conversation is kind of pointless. Secondly, amount has nothing to do with it. Lots of people have a “nightcap to help them sleep” every night. That is dependence and problematic or colloquially, addiction even if it’s only one drink.

132·1 year agoGiven that most cities have areas with varying proportions of people of different ethnicities, yeah it can be discriminatory. They just target certain neighborhoods and know that those are far more likely to be people of a certain background. Not saying they did or didn’t do it here, but that’s how they can do things like that.

4·1 year agoExactly. And then we are back to the original issue of where the scene is already at. If you insist on charging money people have an excuse to not go. If it’s free people can just come to try it out. There’s a reason this problem has not been solved yet.

6·1 year agoI would point out that I mentioned I ran a club before. The venue is the issue. It’s very hard to find somewhere we can use for free. I’m working on getting my garage set up to be able to host, but I don’t really want to open up my house to the public and it’s small anyway. I’m very aware of how to do it, it’s just not practical.

11·1 year agoI feel this hard. I swing dance and my local scene sucks. There’s no college club for the scene to be based around so everyone who organizes and teaches is out to make money from it. I ran my college club (which was open to community members) and I’ve had them ask me how to increase involvement and they really don’t like it when I tell them it’s far too expensive to dance around here.

You should look I to Morphe now. Apparently main dev of ReVanced left and made it.
