  • No idea, maybe that’s where you see the battery level? I like to imagine the coffee mugs are just chatting amongst themselves.

“Ugh Peggy with her fucking black coffee again, we make it through 15 minutes of work and we’ll be back in here so we can refill … Same shit every morning”.

“You’re telling me, Clyde’s been milking his coffee break for 45 minutes now, I doubt he even remembers telling Terry we were going to send him that paperwork”

  • Sounds like you need to talk to your local government officials about having them banned in your area, otherwise you are going to spend a lot of time in jail/prison. Glasses didn’t take off when Google did them because the tech wasn’t there yet 10 years ago. Meta is launching theirs now, Apple will be launching multiple next year, which means Google may be launching them again depending on the success Apple and Meta see.

As far as laws go in the U.S. It is generally accepted that if you leave your property, you can be recorded. Hence Ring doorbells, cameras in and outside every store, on the street lights, etc. I don’t care for it, but privacy (in public) doesn’t exist anymore.

  • We get what you meant (w2), but in case it wasn’t a typo, the w4 is what you submit when you start a job instructing the employer on how to modify what is taken out of your paychecks. They try to make them friendly for people by saying choose a number on certain lines pertaining to how many dependents you have because they expect you will get a larger return at the end of the year, so if you take more out up front you will still break even or still get some of your money back at the end of the year. If you know what you have/will have you can actually do all the math yourself up front and modify the amount taken out so the government isn’t holding any of your money hostage throughout the year and you get it back in your paycheck, and end up having it at $0 owed at the end.

For most people they don’t think it’s worth it, but anyone who gets a $1800 or $3500 dollar tax return or such at the end of the year, is not doing their taxes very smart. As that’s 3500 you could have invested or used for other things throughout the year.

  • I think it can get to a point where there isn’t as much needed work because of tool/technology. As for working for our own satisfaction, there is only so many people that can do one thing before that thing is no longer valuable. If a billion people start making pots, there won’t be any money in pottery, so you won’t be able to afford to live. I don’t believe there is actually “unlimited” trades out there. Are there really new app ideas, sure. Most of them aren’t needed though, so they wouldn’t make any money.

I think we will start to see half the population falling deeply into poverty and suicide rates climbing drastically if we don’t find ways to spread wealth more evenly. The poor will want to revolt to force it, the rich will want to start wars so they can keep their wealth by culling the population down so the tiny percent of wealth they don’t hold can hold the impoverished over enough to make them not want to revolt.
