  • I remember in school doing statistics and probability. There was a question to calculate the probability and chances of winning a bet, and we got a near zero answer. I then asked my teacher if that means the person is actually going to lose. She confirmed yes, and warned us that this is why you have to be careful with gambling and being in debt as a result, and being involved with loans sharks who prey on those with gambling problems.

I’ve personally witnessed what gambling does to a person and their loved ones so I despise it. A lot of the gambling are rigged and so you are more likely to lose.

I tell people that if they’re going to gamble, do the ones with more likelihood of success. Poker is rarely rigged, if ever, because it is based on pure psychology of the players. Investing and stock trading has a more established science, despite the occasional stock manipulation. Although, if one invests in more reputable companies with long term growth and only put in the amount of money the person is willing to lose, hardly anybody goes bankrupt with investing.

  • Those are breadcrumb policies compared to the demands of people to actually make housing, cost of living and healthcare affordable. Going through dEcOrUm when the opponent doesn’t even play by the rules is being complicit and bending over to them, which is the criticism on the Democrats. The Dems cave so easily and conveniently use the excuse of not controlling both houses, even though not controlling both houses has never been the issue for their Republican counterparts.

If Dems are actually serious about being opposition, they would do the same obstructionist tactics that the Republicans do. Instead, Dems play soft by watering down popular policies to appease Republicans, who never even compromise. Or they blame “not controlling both houses” as convenient “get out free from jail” card when that does not even stop Republicans.

Honestly, Americans are brainwashed by corporate media and pacified from taking action. The silly blind faith on passive electoralism by “vOtiNg lEsSeR eViL” instead of activism. The folks who ended the first Gilded age and elected the two Roosevelts will be ashamed at how spoiled and spineless their descendants have been. Because even the affluent liberals would rather see democracy end, than their property prices or stock investment go down by electing progressives. It is very telling that you never addressed about primary. So i guess you are one of the rich liberals who are pieces of shit who keep voting down affordable housing, and thereby alienating the poor and drive them towards populism we’re seeing now?
