If it is just the user part of LLM, then paying $20 for one month subscription would be my recommendation.
You will not be able host anything like Sonnet or Opus.

Shocking: Young people want to see what’s it like elsewhere.
Some Mediatek chips are doing this, that is bt audio cutting out while WiFi doing things. Nothing fancy, 1080p video on YouTube will cause that.

If that would be the case then they could have tried something funny like having their games running only on Linux.
Of course power users would be able to get it running on Windows, but that would likely discourage Xbox folks.
Did they somehow fixed industry / industrialisation? It felt like there is a tiny Factorio in this game, but had a lot of limitations when it came out.
BookLore https://github.com/mvanhorn/booklore/
Killer feature for me was ability to upload books via web.
Edit: just noticed I linked wrong git, thanks @GeekyOnion@lemmy.world

I guess I’m looking for a new service now as well

Nope, you roll with iGPU.
I actually have the same igpu as is in 8700G in my laptop (ryzen 7840U), probably somewhat nerfed as it’s a mobile cpu. To be honest I did not expect that I will be playing Diablo 4 on it.
But sure, you can squeeze in a GPU if you cheap out on some other stuff or buy used parts. Like the laptop I mentioned above - used HP Elitebook for about €750. Hands down the cheapest a the best laptop I ever bought. And "unfortunately " far more gaming capable than I thought.

Hmm let’s see…
Total 850 EUR and you are left with 150-200 for games or hdd or rainbow cables if you are into that stuff.
Needless to say SSD and RAM prices suck.
Note: $1000 + 20% VAT is roughly 1050 EUR

However your options are much better when you’re building a PC with a $1000 budget.
I had that on some lenovo many many years ago… also lovely.
Luckily an EliteBook I got maybe 2 years ago allowed me to fix a bug in a wifi driver that mediatek introduced. There were workarounds, but fuck that. Ax200 fixed it.
I recall having fairly trouble free run with GF 1060 on Fedora on a desktop.
However having an AMD cpu and nvidia dgpu in a laptop is a fuckin’ nightmare. Probably only Broadcom and Mediatek are more random when it comes to drivers. Good thing is that you can plop out a wifi card and get an Intel one for €20.
Edit: I also run Amd 6800 and 9070 in 2 desktops and that just work. I never had to care for drivers.

A lot of countries have instant payments already. It is surprising there isn’t more push towards using this at least.
Probably northern lights froma couple of weeks ago in central Europe.
I have bunch of Aurora photos, but it would be so cool to have our house with it.

It does, sometimes… but it is not a huge PITA.
I need to see if FairScan would do a better job.

I was just building a small home server / NAS. I went with a similar AM4 stack like 2 other PCs we have at home. More spare parts if needed.
Also a some manufacturers offer liftime warranty on RAM.
I don’t think thermal paste is the problem here, the whole box is god damn hot, so it conducts heat well. At wall it measures 14-15w consumption, got it there from like 20-22w that was on defaults. Given that N150 is 6W TDP, the whole system just runs hot.
A fan would help, but I wanted fanless for a reason.
I bought a topton router with Intel N150. I was and still am disappointed with how much it heats up. Enev at idle it’s not really comfortable to touch it.

Damn, I would have thought that glacier would be cheaper and they would claw your eyes out on egress and access.

That just sounds as they aren’t using it property or having way too high expectations of what it can do from all the hype around.
GenAI can definitely help and accelerate your work, but when it is used sensibly. If you let it do most of the work, it will generate so much crap that you will not have capacity to review nor shape it to a desired state.
So… Dark Forest strike? paint them?
