I have a field based on an assetobject that lists values based on a filter. It works fine in the workitem when filled manually by the user. The dropdown lists all selectable values (example: Team A, Team B, Team C ...)
When setting a transition rule ("Perform Action": "Update a request field") in the underlying workflow for the workitem i can select the assetobject field to be modified while the transition (with the condition "Clear this field").
The same rule works fine with another field (here: a system field like Priority) but not with my assetobject field. When the transition is done the dedicated screen asks for selecting the new value but the drop down is empty. Also entering any text will be cleared as soon as i go to the next field for entering a value.
It looks like that the rule doesn´t find any results for the assetobject when the transition is started.
Any ideas how to solve that?
We will need more information on how your Asset field is configured + if the field itself is exposed properly to your project in question.
Looking forward to your updates, so we can assist further.
Best, Joseph
Hi @Bernd Gurn
Could you please include a screenshot of both how you have the Asset field configured and your workflow transition? It'll be easier to see what's going on :)
I've often found it's easier to work with Asset fields through Automation rather than directly in the workflow

Meanwhile it worked for just one time so i guess my set up of fields and rules are correct. It seems to me that the backend needs to long time to retrieve the values from the assets database. Therefore i have created a ticket at the Atlassian support and awaiting feedback.
