For the first prize I have a piece of original artwork by Douglas Paszkiewicz, writer and artist of indie comic book Arsenic Lullaby (also has worked on The Tick, Too Much Coffee Man, MAD Magazine). I was lucky to receive some original artwork from him while he was out at his booth from the last San Diego Comic Con,all thanks to Steemit mind you. These little “prelim” art pieces have good value in the comic art collector circles and I personally even enjoy hanging on my wall Adolf Hilter and a demon by him. In the theme of Steem Monsters, I picked one of the pieces with a pretty awesome Yeti monster in the center (A Yeti Named Eddie?). Check the detail on this piece:

“Spider-Man on a Spider-Bike”
I recently received a package from comic book creator Douglas
Paszkiewicz that contained some awesome original artwork. The word
awesome is downplaying this a bit, it is quite a murderers’ row of cool
ass artwork for someone like myself who has recently become a fanboy of
the twisted dark comedy comic book Arsenic Lullaby.
Some background and a special thanks section.
First is awesome Steemian @steevc who made a post about his cool Arsenic Lullaby Comic Con exclusive comics. With his package included some sketches that I found out through the comments of my post here Douglas had sent some sketches aside for me too that he had not sent! And so here we are. Worth looking back at Steve’s post because sitting on top of the comics and art was Douglas’ tablet he accidentally sent.
Thanks also to @steven.nam who had posted about Comic Art Fans which you can now find some of these pieces displayed. While not active on Steemit currently, Steven still shares his art collection over on Comic Art Fans here. It is worth viewing his account just to see a new Frank Frazetta original pencil drawing he picked up, beautiful.
Third, @retro-room who posted about “How to create beautiful framed comic books for just over $1 each!”. While I have already been in this dollar store framing my comics business for many years before, it was awesome to see that post with the instructions laid out so easy I wish I made the post myself, so now I will just pimp his link out all the time.
Last, @ArsenicLullaby of course. Bad ass indie comic book artist who we are just luck to have on Steemit as well. Thank you for the art!

I wanted to do the character Nick Sax from the comic books Happy! by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, however I specifically wanted to do it based on the TV version played by Chris Meloni because when he plays the character he always looks fed up and exhausted. For some reason I was trying to do it without drawing the character “Happy” in it, just Nick exhausted, but by the end I threw in the horn an ear and a wing on the side.

- Batman portrait drawing is by Alé Garza.
- That frame is from a dollar store.
- If you look super close up enough at the reflections in the glass, you should be able to see some more Batman heads and logos as featured in this photo.
