Sharing information doesn’t need to feel like a net negative, it’s just hard to conceive of better situations under capitalism. IMO much of the AI hate on Lemmy is centered on feeling alienated from privatized commons. Efforts like Common Voice are a much better approach than letting billionaires control it.
