No one deserves that much money and I’m not arguing in favor of what they did. I’m just pointing out that getting rid of that many people is way, way, more than $30,000,000 on a payroll.

I assume most of the layoffs were in support roles and not the main coders or hardware engineers. I assume it was a lot of secretaries and intern level stuff and phone rep and sales people supplemented by commissions and cleaning crew and maintenance jobs. Probably shut down some service offices too.
I just don’t really care for peanut butter.
Enough for 400 employees.

News@lemmy.world•Americans quit streaming services as cost of living continues to climb, report finds
1·1 day agoIn the US there’s like 4 different pricing options for Netflix. The cheapest option is $10 a month and has a bunch of commercials. The most expensive is like $20 or so a month and gives you unlimited download options, no commercials, and shows and movies not included in the cheapest option. I have the cheap one, and I only have it because for some weird ass corpo BS it’s included for “free” with my cell phone carrier.

Hyenas in general. Like, is it really the best idea that they just like eating prey ass first while still alive? Seems like a dick move.
Damn. I can’t unsee that it isn’t looking correct, now. Lame
That’s perfectly spot on, and super disturbing that it exists to begin with.

Lol. Oddly enough, I’m totally that guy. Also, the sauce I usually keep around is what most would say is way, way, too hot.

12·4 days agoI think you might be the idiot, yourself. Go re+read faythofdragons post a couple of times and then try to explain where you got the idea that they had any sort of gastro disease or stomach ulcers before they started taking ibuprofen.
Since they literally and specifically say in it that their ulcers (according to the specialist) were caused from the ibuprofen they were taking.

You don’t know what jobs they cut. It was likely service offices and phone help and secretaries and maintenance people and commissioned sales people and such. They couldn’t have cut 30,000 programmers and hardware engineers.
