There is a particular indignity that comes from living in America, derived from the experience of waking up in the morning to see reports that Donald Trump has said something profoundly evil, and then needing to type “truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump” into your web browser to see if he actually said that. Once there, you can see a post in which Trump did indeed threaten to wipe out the entire civilization of Iran, stacked on top of an ad for a sketchy herbal supplement of some sort:
A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

Anyone else remember when Putin threatened to nuke Ukraine or anyone that helped them?
This is just trump imitating his bestie, engaging in saber rattling to cow his enemies. It’s not going to work like he thinks it will
Edit: Apparently it did work
What a shame
Except unlike Putin, Trump is certifiably insane.
Yeah there’s a big difference between savvy / unhinged and sundowning / irrationally incompetent
He’s also much much stupider, I don’t like Putin one bit but he’s not a complete buffoon
Meh. I think we just don’t know enough about Putin to certify him.
Most people familiar with Russia and its politics say he’s not the evil genius some people make him out to be - just evil, paranoid, delusional…
His regime’s biggest “achievement” was to repackage Soviet hybrid war strategies for the internet age.
edit: being more intelligent than Trump isn’t something to be proud of
You underestimate V. Putin.
And probably has working nukes.
