Ive visited NYC many times. The subway is a magical place. Once you’re on the subway, you can do almost anything and people will leave you alone as long as you don’t bother them too much. Crying is nothing. Ive seen Zoom calls, Competitive Chess, Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll (live instruments), Talking in tongues (or just crazy in general), a medieval knight in full armor, and probably a bunch im just not remembering at the moment.
If you start inconveniencing people though, you will hear about it very quickly.

Yeah true, kinda forgot about that. Guess i mean just the cartoon in this example, but it was just the first cartoon i thought of.
I think that was originally on Saturday nights. I remember my dad letting me stay up to watch it because he secretly really loved the show.
You gotta find the right setting first. Like sitting crisscross at the coffee table eating a bowl of Cookie Crisp or Rice Crispes Treats cereal, that your mom just brought you. You have no bills, no responsibilities (except that 3rd grade spelling test coming up), and no concept of the evils of the world. You are pure and innocent and completely engrossed in Batman catching the bad guy of the week.
Hmmm, yeah i think i see the problem…
I wonder if it started that way at first. Did TMNT get developed because of toy companies or was just just a mutually lucrative venture? Did it start earlier? Like Lone Ranger and Buck Rodgers type stuff? Interesting to think about for me.
So no egg clutch = immortal female octopods?
The overlap between a smart bear and a dumb human is actually pretty vast. Sometimes you gotta just accept that the dumb humans wont be able to figure it out in order to keep the smart bears out too.
imagine the sound of hundreds of runners clicking their nipples in just before a race.

News@lemmy.world•Canadian living in Florida detained by ICE, sent to infamous ‘Alligator Alcatraz’English
17·6 days agoI just don’t get it man. I live in Florida and see Canadian plates on cars all the time. Why would you come down here? Especially here! You’re just toying with fate.
Early versions of the vehicle were designed for ground launch, but later versions were intended for use only in space.
I don’t think a ground launch Orion Drive would work without some crazy material science and infrastructure. Like a “flame trench” that can withstand a nuclear blast and a craft that doesn’t rip itself to shred just from the shockwave alone.
To add to the great info already here, Flock is a private company. Think like Ring doorbells but for “Traffic Cameras”. They are mainly used to bypass laws and constitutional rights because its a for profit business. They have weaseled their way into entire cities. They not only provide back door access to any agency that pays, but they are actively building profiles on everyone they record. They know where you live, what you drive, when you work, where you work, how many people are in your family. They store all this without our consent or even notifying anyone.
Here’s a site that explains more and has an interactive map that shows where the cameras are located. https://deflock.org/
Im looking for other work but its slow going. This job was what i could find at the time.
I work with a bunch of magats and a lot of the customers are magats as well. A customer was talking to me about current events and the magat boss cuts us off and says to the customer, “Careful, hes not like us”. Like, excuse me? the hell did you just say? You’re right, I can think for myself… They complain of echo chambers but create bubbles around them in real life and refuse to even talk to people who aren’t “like them”.

News@lemmy.world•Texas students could soon be forced to read from the Bible in public schoolsEnglish
9·13 days agowe had a few things like that back in the 90s when i was in HS. I went to every available one. Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan (we actually had a Wiccan club!). It got me out of class and was fun to learn about other cultures.
Ive never met, read, or heard of an addict of psychedelics. Even an addict of THC is a stretch to be honest.
