I do some small-scale solar installs and the rate of pricing decline is insane. Even in a world where everything is getting more expensive, solar panels, electronics, and batteries all continue to rapidly fall in price.

We finally have the technology
We had the technology in like 1998. RSS doesn’t solve this problem because publications stopped offering full articles a long time ago. You still have to open the site to read them.
On another note, the author left out that PC gamer hijacks your browser history to show more articles when you try to back out of the site.
Many distros are run by large companies that don’t care. RedHat, Canonical, etc.

Yes I am actually aware, thanks.
ankle monitors should not be able to be accessed remotely.
Ankle monitors monitor location. Interlock devices monitor intoxication levels, and locally send a signal to the vehicle about whether it’s ok to drive. The difference should be obvious.

1·20 days agoI don’t understand what your point is. No one is saying it’s going to happen tomorrow. The point is that fines themselves aren’t the problem. The problem is corruption and cronyism. Fines are totally effective when implemented properly.

Uhhh nope, there’s no reason for a remote connection.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft announces sweeping Windows changes - but no apologiesEnglish
82·20 days agoNothing but lip service. MS did not “analyze your feedback” because it was never about what you wanted, they analyzed their income (most likely from enterprise customers) and realized they may have boiled the frog too quickly. Windows will never improve because they do not want it to improve, they want it to make as much money as humanly possible, and they will eternally push that envelope to find out just how much bullshit their customers will tolerate.

There is no reason they couldn’t assess fines a different way…
Certainly the fines were sufficiently sized in the 90s era when they dropped the hammer on Microsoft.
