Carsten Pieper Basically, this is a jazz album, but his "genre-defying" way of doing things is clearly at work here, too! So, how to describe this? Groove-oriented jazz with electronic and rocky sprinklings, maybe? While most tracks are in the "energizing" side, I chose the calm closer Mercy as favourite (sounding a bit like the 21st century's answer to John Surman's Upon Reflection to me).

And hats off to Tjarko Bursink for the hint!
