returns to IMAX screens
They specified the format that it was returning to because it rotated out for Mario

Not at work but I briefly lived with that guy. I just started agreeing with him on everything. “And we all know what the correct opinion on net neutrality is” “Yes we do.”
“People just don’t understand what Trump is doing” “Yeah, you’re so right”
There’s really nowhere to go when you just vaguely agree with what they’re saying but don’t commit to anything

I take the Supreme Court’s line on shitposts. They’re hard to define, but I know it when I see it

I’m not sure it’s exactly what you’re going for but the Wii Shopping channel music kicked ass. Additionally the 1988 Crystal Light Aerobics Championship has this jam

Burkina Faso also pulled themselves out of the International Criminal Court with similar logic. They said America, Isreal, Russia, and China all get to do basically whatever they want globally while Burkina Faso is constantly slapped with sanctions
Now those sanctions are because that country is one of the most dangerous on the planet, so it’s hard to take the military leader at his word. Even if he had a valid point

It’s almost like 500 years of direct experience with the ring makes him slightly more qualified to track it than its fan club

Yeah, it’s a little spoilery to say but the game tries to force you to learn that lesson. Trying to be a good cop and being straight edge is pretty frustrating. Then once you take a morally gray choice and it advances the plot, you use some drugs to meet a check and there aren’t really consequences. Then by the end of the game you’re high on 4 different drugs punching children and you understand the point they were making

That does suck, I got the kobo libra color. I will say that the color and improved response times make it an overall improvement however the buttons are way less tactile and it feels much less bright. So it’s not a full upgrade if it makes you feel a little better

Eh, compare Spec Ops to its contemporaries and it’s definitely an outlier for treating you like a bad guy. Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Medal of Honor were definitely treating you like a hero. Still Spec Ops is much better than those games so if the discussion gets people to play it then I’m on board

Tommy 1/5 - It’s not at all clear how much of this is metaphor and literal. It’s wild that Tina Turner plays a literal sexual iron maiden but none of the huge swings seem to be in the same direction
The Bride 3/5 - Eh, I don’t know what caused all the Frankenstein stuff to be in the zeitgeist but this is pretty middling
Ready or Not 4/5 - Good horror with a competent female lead. Great ending too
Palm Springs 4.5/5 - Something about Groundhog Daying is just so compelling and this is one of the best versions of it. Interesting characters, a little philosophy, some good hyjinks, I’d highly recommend this
The Napa Boys 4/5 - This is an indie from a group of LA comedians and honestly it’s a little unapproachable. It’s parodying so many things simultaneously it gets hard to know who and what are the butts of the jokes. Still, I was laughing the whole time with 3 other people in my tiny theater and I mostly got the jokes
How to Make a Killing 2.5/5 - Hahahaha, fuck the rich… except the shittiest one who wins the whole thing? I don’t really understand what the message of this was supposed to be and frankly it didn’t make a ton of sense. I can’t decide if I like Glenn or not
Project Hail Mary 4.5/5 - Excellent, go see it on a huge screen. Andy Weir writes books to be made into movies and it works here. The movie is more emotional and less sciencey than both the novel and The Martian but it works
The Sting 4.5/5 - Pretty cleanly establishes the template for the grift. Robert Redford and Paul Newman’s beautiful eyes are the stars of this and it’s hard not to fall in love with those sleazeballs

It’s not exactly seasonally appropriate but I think it would be really funny if they were hired by a grumpy old man who was being harassed by ghosts and couldn’t sleep. Then since your players are murderers they’ll probably default to killing the ghosts. As it goes on it becomes apparent they’re killing the ghosts of Christmas future, present, and past in that order and that they’re actually ghost busting for Scrooge. Then depending on the level of the 1 shot you can have him be a scooby-doo villain that they fight after as a lich/demilich/archmage/etc

Disco Elysium’s protagonist is a walking disaster and there are a lot of ways you can play him. Honestly playing him as a totally morally upright professional is one of the harder ways to play. You definitely don’t feel like a hero while you’re playing

The first 2 you are absolutely unequivocally the bad guy, those were going to be my suggestions. I think the second 2 it’s a little spoilery to tell people you’re the bad guy

Equations of Life by Simon Morden - it’s ok post apocalyptic sci-fi. It’s got a lot of Russian swearing mixed in which is fun, if slightly incomprehensible
Will Save the Galaxy for Food by Yahtzee Croshaw - just finished this because the third book is finally available for E-readers. If you have any experience with Yahtzee from the internet I would encourage you to give his books a try. He is a very talented writer and I frequently laughed out loud at this book. He had that very British knack for humorous asides that can be a whole page or just a single aside
Dragon Ball - My new e-reader has a color screen so I’ve been trying manga on it. This volume covers the Goku/Tien fight and it was easily the best one in the series up to this point

It’s good we’re starting this in spring, so when we resolve the case in 9 months plenty of people will have been killed by their cruel negligence

I saw around 70 movies in theaters last year alone, I’m sure my lifetime number is in the hundreds. Here’s a list I put together earlier this year:

Deport them where? You’re just going to dump them on someone else’s shores for them to become undocumented immigrants to be shipped back to America? I know we’ve set up camps in other countries but there’s several orders of magnitude of difference there. The logistics alone of moving a third of the US is insane and that’s if they wanted to participate. Of course they don’t have any long term plans
There was an Emperor’s New Groove show and Kuzco is an adult
