As if a “no balls games” sign has ever stopped anyone before. As a kid we used to use the signs as target practice for balls…

        You sound extremely America-brained.

        None of that happens here.

Citation for a kid in the UK getting shot by the police for kicking a ball at a “no ball games” sign please.

    100F temps in may

    Police called just for existing

Old hags screaming at them and trying to run them over with their cars

Every hangout spot went out of business or requires money to stay

No wonder kids don’t go outside anymore

If anything I think no ball games signs makes it more likely for kids to play.

Parental intervention and companies not purposely using addictive mechanics in their apps to prey on children is the only thing that will resolve this.

I’d say. Actually providing more areas where people can play games safely for free. Is a much better option.

Over the last few dacsdes. Most such places have been replaced with profit based corps. Making simple exercise and play out of the range of low income.

I agree. More parents should take it seriously.

General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don’t post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
