Why do I find this slightly unnerving? There’s just something uncanny about it, I can’t explain it. It’s not even some backrooms liminal space shit, I just can’t quite put it into words properly.
For some reason this was super interesting for me…so through some Reddit research, I’ve learned these are cheap(er) apartments for college students at VA Tech…apparently some good parties are thrown in there. The reason for the indoor balconies is supposedly because (in a typical college town slumlord style) they’ve converted the essentially attic space into additional bedrooms…and since they can’t get another window in there, they’ve gone with this indoor balcony thing to (badly) stay in code. Haha anything to squeeze every last dollar out of the students. The students who’ve lived/hung out there though don’t seem to mind though, and yeah I can see how it could lead to some fairly cool indoor parties in that space…a lot of beers have probably been bonged off the top balconies.

How do they get to the upstairs rooms?
EDIT: It looks like the upstairs rooms are connected to the downstairs ones as a single apartment space. I was thinking the upstairs ones were separate.
They only let the varsity basketball players have the upstairs, gotta slam dunk yourself to bed
Looks like a prison for the rich
Where do you live?
In the backrooms
The Miami condos of the Backrooms.
That’d be an awesome setup for a moon or antarctic base.
They would still need to decorate a lot in my opinion. Even a bunch of plastic plants would make this a lot nicer
I wonder if this was a school or office building converted into apartments.
I’d love this if it was a bit larger and had an indoor garden and windows.
What are those balconies used for?
Competitive sex vs your neighbor
BBQ.
No view, no privacy, no space to do anything. I’m going to hope this is too dumb to be real.
As long as i can smoke on that balcony, I’m good
This would be a great place to crash out on pyramid of gel tabs
My guess is that it’s a school and too many students were climbing onto the overhangs.
No actual data, just vibes.
