In Gaza City, at least 104 Palestinian refugees were killed Thursday when Israeli troops opened fire on a crowd waiting for food aid. “This isn’t the first time people have been shot at by Israeli forces while people have been trying to access food,” says the U.N.'s special rapporteur on the right to food, Michael Fakhri, who accuses Israel of the war crime of intentional starvation. This comes as reports grow of Palestinians resorting to animal feed and cactus leaves for sustenance and as experts warn of imminent agricultural collapse. “Every single person in Gaza is hungry,” says Fakhri, who emphasizes that famine in the modern context is a human-made catastrophe. “At this point I'm running out of words to be able to describe the horror of what’s happening and how vile the actions have been by Israel against the Palestinian civilians.”

Um, the IDF has been killing Palestinian civilians en-mass since the start of the war. Using 2000lbs bombs in civilian areas kills civilians.

High level Israeli officials have flat out said that the end goal is 100% ethnic cleansing. An Israel completely free of Palestinians.

They’ve been slow rolling the Ethnic Cleansing for decades, but now they have an excuse to speed things up a bit. With the unwavering support of various major powers, Israel can speed run the ethnic cleansing.

I think your imagination of how it looks like if a high tech military wants to kill civilians “en-mass” in a highly dense area like Gaza is severely lacking. And I’m not blaming you really, that’s not a nice thing to think about. But it does cloud your judgment.

What they are actually doing, instead of committing genocide, is prioritising winning the war over causing civilian casualties on the enemy side. Nearly every army does that in a war. We could say to Hamas that this is the cost of starting a war, but that would be of course pointless, since they care even less about civilian casualities than IDF. They prioritize causing global outrage against Israel over their own civilians. Some evidence suggests that’s what they’re aiming for.

Oh that makes sense. It just looks like ethnic cleansing. It just tastes, smells, sounds and feels like genocide. It’s not… But it just looks that way.
