  • I get random “hey” texts every few weeks or so. I always assume it’s a would-be scammer testing numbers en masse to see who will respond. It wouldn’t occur to me to assume I gave out my number while blackout drunk. I mean, I used to drink pretty hard, but at some point I had to face the fact that it wasn’t drowning my sorrows, only adding to them. But that’s a different topic, not what you’re asking for help with.

So anyway, if my partner gave me a hard time about a random “hey” text? I’d push back, because realistically it’s just as likely a spam text, not evidence of intention to cheat.

Bringing it up “during intimacy” … maybe it’s a fantasy turn-on for him, or maybe it’s a creepy way of trying to undermine your confidence and keep you working overtime to try to regain his approval. You’ll have to ask him point blank if it excites him to think of you with other men. If he says no, then he needs to drop the subject forever.

  • You need to internalize the idea that it’s not fair of anyone to expect yoi to do more than be a compassionate listener. Be firm about not taking on an intermediary/messenger role.

Try saying things like “You seem to be hesitant about speaking your mind to Mom, what do you think will happen if you tell her what you need?” “What’s your plan to solve this if you don’t feel like you can express your feelings to her?”

Healthy venting is solution-oriented. You’re under no obligation to entertain endless circular whining and fake helplessness from adults.

  • Bsky gets a constant stream of bot-created scam accounts posing as Gazans soliciting donations for food, medicine, shelter etc. Sometimes as many as a dozen created within seconds, all pointing to the same donation-platform URL, with only minimal variations of usernames or post content, sometimes with donation URL obscured using short-link services.

Just like with email spam, scammers and filters are locked in an endless adaptation race. It is almost inevitable that some genuine accounts will trigger false positives when demographics or keywords overlap the flood of scam/spam content.

The situation is also very vulnerable to manipulation by the forces perpetrating Palestinian genocide. Israel’s cyberwarfare goons certainly have the means to manipulate, poison and jam Bsky’s Palestine-adjacent topic space, effectively co-opting and weaponizing Bsky’s own filters against genuine critics of the Palestinian genocide.

    P.S. fuck Xitter too lol
