Apple sucks balls. The way they intentionally make their products incompatible with non-Apple products so you have to buy through them, or get a “dongle”. Dongles suck balls.

politics @lemmy.world•Melania Trump denies ties to Jeffrey Epstein and urges hearing for survivors
5·2 days agoYou might be right on that. I know a lot of people are saying, “Oh something big is about to drop!” I wish, but a more likely scenario is something boring by comparison, like being asked to testify before a committee. I also wonder if she’s trying to draw a divide between herself and Trump. If she’s going to throw him under the bus, all I can say is, it couldn’t happen to a better person.
That is awesome! Might be a silly question but is that Niagara Falls?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Disregarding "the American dream" what's some stuff about America that still makes you proud?
9·1 year agoOur country is beautiful, and we have an incredibly diverse array of climates. Tropical beaches, vast deserts, snow capped peaks, dense forest, sprawling grasslands. And so much of our land is protected in National Parks, BLM, National Forests… It’s truly a treasure.
I cancelled my Prime subscription today, after 15 years. Just don’t want to contribute to that man anymore. Fuckin sociopaths ruining the world.

2·2 years agoFormer Californian myself. It could definitely be worse! Could also be better. I miss Jerry Brown.

154·2 years agoI really don’t like Newsom. He comes across as a politician that isn’t motivated by a sense of public service, but instead someone who’s just in it for the fame and power. And I just don’t trust anyone who spends that much time on his hair.

4·2 years agoThanks for posting this; it brings back lots of happy memories for me. I camped there many times as a kid back in the 90s, and the whole family loved watching the movie. Such a cool place to visit. I love Wyoming!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would you do if you had six months left to live?
41·2 years agoHonestly, spend time with my family and pets. Enjoy nature. Have a big party with my favorite people where I tell them how they’ve made my life so wonderful.
- WTF - Marc Maron’s podcast with really great long-form interviews of comedians, actors, and other public figures.
- Radiolab - about science, nature, and the human experience. Interesting and educational.
- Don’t Ask Tig - comedian Tig Notaro and a guest answer listener questions asking for advice. Usually funny and heartwarming.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What actions are you using to prevent or prepare for climate change for yourself or community? Let’s learn from each other
2·3 years agoMoved out of a drought/fire prone area and to a more climate-stable environment with tons of water. Bought a plug in hybrid. Work from home so no commute. Reduced meat consumption. And chose not to have babies.

World News@lemmy.world•NASA's Perseverance rover finds diverse organic material in ancient Martian lake basinEnglish
1·3 years agoOr, the window of habitability on Mars was much shorter than on Earth, and there just wasn’t time for complex, multicellular life to evolve. On Earth, life existed for billions of years before multicellular critters popped up. I think one day, a rover is going to turn over the right rock and we’ll see a little smudge of fossilized algal mat. But I am an optimist.
