So this actually backfired on us. Once the cat grass was finished, my dumbass cat decided to test every plant to check if they taste like cat grass.

2·4 months agoLove this! In the western world, we have forgotten the practice of participating in acts that benefit the future generations more than the present. We are too focused on current profits and maximizing gains to realize that acts that don’t necessarily benefit you but might benefit future generations are how we have reached where we are today. Our present is built upon the sacrifice and hardwork of those before us.

7·5 months agoDishwasher! Only my cast iron and stainless steel as well as my knives by hand. I spend too much effort sharpening them to throw them in the dishwasher.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft seemingly just revealed that OpenAI lost $11.5B last quarterEnglish
1·5 months agoIt’s not that it’s not useful for the end customer. It’s more that investors are overpromised on the value and return from AI. There has been no returns yet, and consumers are finding less useful than these companies intended. The scam is for the investors, not the end user

1942·5 months agoAI is funded solely by sunk cost fallacy at this point. I wonder how long it will be before investments start getting pulled back because of a lack of ROI. I can already feel the sentiment towards AI and it getting pushed in everything turning negative amongst consumers recently.

51·7 months agoIt could be real! My cat does the same but with socks she scrounges up from the dirty or clean laundry. We some times think she has a collection of socks somewhere. If she is sleeping in a room and everyone leaves the room without her realizing it, she will do the same thing with the socks.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is the human body so incredibly bad at responding to colds?English
51·7 months agoInteresting study, but the sample size of 54 is a bit too small, and usually strong medical research requires placebo controlled randomized trials. The ones that received medicine in this trial had to meet a specific criteria I.e. not randomized. Still interesting study to build off of nonetheless

43·7 months agoI have two gaming PCs, a Nintendo Switch, PS5, and a Steam Deck. If gaming is not your thing, I am a coffee snob, so I can entertain you with my coffee brewing gear or we can dial in different roasts together.
If even coffee is not your thing, I am also a hobbyist woodworker, so maybe we can build something together.
If all else fails, you can play with my dog, relax in one of my 3 hammocks, mess with my cats, we can go ultralight backpacking, you can play the piano, we can make scented candles or soaps, or I can teach you programming. I also have lots of books!
