Wenn ich mich recht an mein erstes Semester Recht erinnere, dann basiert das deutsche Rechtssystem u.a. auf dem Grundprinzip, dass alles was nicht explizit verboten ist, erlaubt ist.

Das führt manchmal zu unangenehmen Gesetzeslücken wie diesen, aber ich sehe das nicht als grundsätzliches Problem, sofern diese Lücken - falls angemessen - zeitnah geschlossen werden.

Freilich sollte man dabei auch bedenken, dass ein Abschreckungseffekt durch die Einführung oder Verschärfung von Gesetzen nicht nachweisbar ist, d.h. ein Gesetz, das dieses Problem adressiert, wird nicht verhindern, dass Spanner mit elektronischer Hilfe spannen, sondern nur bestenfalls diejenigen bestrafen, die es tun. Gerade bei einer Tat wie dieser, die naturgemäß nur selten entdeckt wird, kann man auch nicht mit hohen Aufklärungs- und Verurteilungsraten rechnen, d.h. Abschreckung auf diesem Wege ist weitgehend ausgeschlossen.

Russische Kriegsverbrechen sind aber kein Versehen.

Sometimes, the issue is certification, e.g. for aerospace and medical applications - although these systems tend to run on decades-old software anyway (since changes to the software also need to be certified, which rarely happens), so it’s not like this has an actual impact.

Decreasing friction is a problem though. In the past, you needed at least some basic skills to e.g. photoshop a compromising photo of someone (and quite a lot of experience to do so convincingly), whereas current AI tools can do this far better with no skills required.

Also, the market is already oversaturated. It’s not just that there are too many AAA and AA games; Indies are also struggling, because supply vastly exceeds the demand due to thousands of titles that are published on Steam every year alone, most of which are commercial flops. Only someone with a complete lack of understanding of what’s going on in this industry would want more people and more games.

I would put him in the same category as a chess grand master. It’s obviously a mental skill.

Not to mention, this is hardly out of the ordinary for South Korea. Esports are a major thing there and have been since the 1990s, filling arenas and attracting many millions of regular viewers.

A relative of mine switched to a BEV just a few months ago - KGM Torres EVX, a bargain from South Korea with 462 km (287 mi) WLTP range, which he regularly exceeds - after years of driving plug-in hybrids from Mitsubishi. He obviously could not be happier, given current gas prices (except that the driver’s seat holds up exactly as poorly as on the Mitsubishis). He does not have a wall box, by the way: All of his charging is done through public chargers and a slow wall outlet at work. At between €28 and 36 per full recharge, it’s a very cheap car to drive.

Even when he was driving his prior hybrids, he was barely ever using the internal combustion engine - to the point that the car would occasionally warn him to refresh the gas in the tank - since he was doing almost all of his driving in EV-mode.

They aren’t peddling their products exclusively in America though. I doubt EU customers, courts and regulatory agencies are oblivious to this change.

Never heard of it, but I stopped playing the game for the most part (except for the amazing total conversion Enderal) years before it came out, so it makes sense. It definitely looks interesting though.

The advantage of having every DLSS feature (except for frame generation) in a low-end card like this one can’t be understated. You need bit of extra frame rate and image quality you can get with a card like this one. DLSS is both the most widely supported and best upscaling method - and even if you don’t like it for some reason, you can still use FSR or XeSS in games that support it instead.

Just make sure to get the 8 GB instead of the identically-named 6 GB version, because of course a much worse card has the exact same name. Not only is there more memory, it’s also faster (128 bit instead of a 96 bit bus), there are more CUDA cores (2560 instead of 2304) and the card runs at a much higher clock speed (1.78 GHz vs. 1.47). It needs a separate power connector, unlike the cut-down variant, but it’s still more power-efficient than OP’s current card.

I remember trying the single player campaign when it came out in 2012. To say that it wasn’t good would have been an understatement. Everything about it was abysmal: Visuals, sound design, controls, level design, AI, weapon feel, etc. It was also ridiculously buggy. I’m talking 1, maybe 2/10 at best. This surprised me, given the fanfare surrounding the project back then and the high hopes I had. I also quite like flawed, quirky Indie and AA titles, but this project wasn’t it back then, despite being free.

I hope the final release is vastly improved, but honestly, the trailer reminds me too much of what it was like 14 years ago.

It also reminds me of the recently released Timesplitters fan game, which is even worse, one of the most incompetently designed and programmed games I’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing. I’m not exaggerating.

Sorry for the outdated impressions and negativity. I really do hope Renegade X has come a long way.

Edit: It looks unbelievably bland. There’s absolutely nothing even remotely new or compelling here. No AI usage and no early access are nice, but that’s not enough on its own. I’ll happily eat my hat in case I’m wrong though.

Holy Moly, I need to get back into Minecraft and Minecraft modding.

Ich hab mir kürzlich einen sehr preiswerten Medion X42 SW+ angeschafft (UVP 300€, seit Mitte Dezember bei mehreren Händlern für 130€ erhältlich).

Kommt mit Basisstation, die selbstständig den Staubbehälter in einen Staubsaugerbeutel entleert, was in der Preisklasse ungewöhnlich ist. Wertiges Teil mit viel Zubehör, navigiert erstaunlich souverän und saugt ganz brauchbar, außer auf einer ganz bestimmten Schmutzfangmatte (aber ich hab bisher erst eine der drei Bürsten ausprobiert). Es gibt eine zusätzliche kleine aufsteckbare Bürste für Ecken, die tut was sie soll. Putzen ist auch möglich, aber ich habe zu viel Teppichboden, um ihn dafür zu nutzen, d.h. ich kann die Putzleistung nicht kommentieren.

Navigation erfolgt per LIDAR und mit gaaanz sanften Kollisionen, aber ohne Kamera, was für mich ein Kaufkriterium war. Einen Absturzsensor gibt es auch, falls du Treppen hast. Auch positiv: Man braucht keine App, keine Internetverbindung und kann das Teil umfassend mit einer kleinen Fernbedienung kontrollieren. Es gibt aber eine optionale App, falls du darauf Wert legen solltest. Egal wie man ihn benutzt, er findet ohne Mühe zur Basisstation zur Entleerung und zum Aufladen zurück, obwohl ich die in der Anleitung empfohlenen Abstände zu Möbeln links und rechts davon nicht annähernd einhalte.

Ein einziges Mal hat er sich in einer Ecke festgefahren, zwischen mehreren stark reflektierenden Gegenständen, was möglicherweise das LIDAR verwirrt hat. Die gleiche Ecke wurde seitdem mehrmals ohne Mühe navigiert.

Der Roboter kann ohne Mühe sehr hohe Kanten überwinden, was mich positiv überrascht hat. Für Treppen reicht es nicht ganz, aber selbst mehrere Zentimeter Höhenunterschied sind kein Problem, ebenso wie hochflorige Teppichböden und komplizierte Untergründe.

Die Lautstärke entspricht ungefähr einem normalen Staubsauger, wobei man die Saugstärke und damit die Lautstärke aber regulieren kann. Ich stelle den gerne an, wenn ich das Haus verlasse, aber zumindest ein Zimmer weiter stört der Lärm auch bei Anwesenheit nicht.

Das ist mein erster Saugroboter und ich habe bewusst kein besonders teures Modell gewählt (was ich immer bei für mich neuen Geräteklassen mache). Ich würde dir auch dazu raten, erst einmal zu sehen, ob diese Geräteklasse an sich für dich Sinn macht und nicht direkt 800€ in die Hand nehmen. Als Einstiegsgerät taugt dieses günstige Teil allemal.
