I appreciate the response and perspective. For me, the obligation begins the instant I am made aware someone wants something, irrespective of if they actually ask it. Even if I end up turning it down, I still have to be polite and get the question first, explain why, and potentially who might be able to help if I have any leads. If I were to side step all of that and say “no, do not ask me a question” upon being asked to ask, that would be seen as very rude, and I would feel rude for doing it too.

To be frank with you, it’s the opposite. Asking to ask means that now I have to wait to actually get your question, which is kind of annoying. It’s not egregious or anything, but I’m not keen on it, nor are others [1] [2] [3].

Imo, sexually explicit images and videos should go to a dedicated NSFW community, as we already have several yiff communities on this instance which are actively maintained. So if there is a policy put in place, I’d opt to bar outright pornographic imagery from this community, leaving just safe stuff, and sort of suggestive or double entendre jokes and the like.

This has lit a fire under me, I’m gonna gesture so many words! Sucks that I have to download the proprietary library—I entirely stopped gesture typing because of that—but this is for the greater good. Okay, challenge accepted. As characters such as spaces and general punctuation are allowed, I can encode letters using binary and you can decipher them. Codex: E is 1, . is zero. A space signifies one number has terminated, and another has begun. A hyphen will denote the ending of a word.

Alright, how about a fun task to blow an hour—avoiding any fifth glyphs. It’s basic, but will stop you in your tracks for a bit if unfamiliar. Jot down about your your day, possibly an upcoming situation, and do it with good grammar, spanning a paragraph or so. Now you’ll sit stuck on this, and look full of focus!
