It’s going to be an even bigger problem when it drops down to only having one side.

1·1 month agoA “Game of Thrones” movie is in development […] That’s about all we know right now […]
And they wrote an entire article about it.
Hopefully it will be an alternative ending or something so fans can get some proper closure.
I remember seeing a recent Kickstarter that has a sort of holographic AI friend in a “container” like that, and it reached funding far past its goal.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Under the most ideal circumstances, how 'clean' is drinkable tap water by the time it reaches our taps?
52·1 month agoI had a family member who had a kidney stone start drinking their tap water a lot so they wouldn’t get another one. Their tap (well) water had so much calcium that they ended up getting another kidney stone from drinking too much water.
Most US employers combine Vacation Days and Sick Days as PTO. If you want to take time off, whether it’s approved leave or you’re sick, it comes out of your PTO allotment.

20·2 months agoI remember something about a campells soup (or other soup?) executive saying that they won’t even eat their own companies product because it was gross and for poor people. I guess they tried it one day and were disgusted by it. But they’ll keep selling it because $$$.
Any noticeable latency and I won’t even give something a chance to try it. Needing to send my inputs over the internet, wait for them to get processed, and then have the video output streamed back to my local setup means even a small amount of latency. 40ms (which is what I expect for my connection in online gaming servers) would kill the experience of many games, especially rhythm games or other high-reflex games like the entire fighting game genre. Some stuff like Turn Based RPGs could possibly benefit from cloud gaming for users with underperforming hardware, but that’s it. Strong

9·2 months agoMorrowind is probably one of my favorites, but it definitely has not aged well. Going the mage route with custom spells can absolutely make you overpowered though. A single Damage Strength spell can cripple most enemies, as they become over encumbered by their few items in inventory.

15·3 months agoThe videos I’ve seen definitely show him using a phone to film what’s happening as he begins to help the lady that was assaulted. What I’ve seen other people say is that he had a legal, holstered pistol that was taken by ICE officers moments before executing him.

He will be sentenced to a stern talking-to and paid vacation, despite calls for a lighter punishment.
