Unfortunate that they announced this immediately after the sale finished. I went ahead and grabbed a copy. Thanks for the heads up!

What exactly was the error you were getting when trying to install the games?
Could it have been something like a missing DLL that you would normally have from installing almost anything else on those machines at the time?
I’ve also noticed that my old game collection runs much better on Linux (using wine) than it does on Windows with compatibility enabled.

No Man’s Sky Pokemon Pal World update!

That wouldn’t be too far fetched. Pepsi is a much larger company than Coca-Cola. Practically everything in the snack aisle is owned by Pepsi.
Some of the companies/brands that PepsiCo already owns: Frito-Lay, Quaker, Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Naked, etc.

Use PieFed if you want to be able to view polls posted to various communities.
There’s even a Polls community on Lemmy.world, but you wouldn’t be able to see or interact with any actual poll posts unless you’re using something that supports viewing it (PieFed, Mbin?, Mastodon, etc).

Depends on the game, depends on the content.
For example, Skyrim, I could easily continue playing (or just ignore most of the main storyline).
Compared to something like Assassins Creed 1, where any “additional content” would be the most boring/repetitive task. I was done with this as soon as the credits rolled.

You can’t with Lemmy, yet. Maybe if you use a frontend client that supports it (like “blorp”, or “Interstellar”). However, if you use PieFed you can do this. Just set up what’s called a “Feed” and then you can combine all of the parenting communities into one.
For example, this is what the “AllGaming” feed looks like: https://piefed.social/f/allgames
There might be a feed already set up on the PieFed.world instance, otherwise you could be the one to set it up for everyone else.
Compared to Lemmy, PieFed also allows you to use tags on posts, user flair, create polls, blur spoiler images, and it will also combine the comments of anything that’s been crossposted (separated into groups for each community) into a single post.

Showing up once a week isn’t a problem if it’s only a handful of people going to the same place.
However, when you have a lot of people on this device in a small area, you’ll have to ask them to go farther and farther away. Or else you’re going to outsource who is checking on the device, and that’s going to start driving up the price for this service.

I use GrayJay, so if there’s ever a content creator that uploads to both YouTube and Odysee (or something else) then I default to following them on anything other than YouTube. In most cases that happens to be Odysee.
I don’t normally go to YouTube or Odysee just to browse available videos. But I have noticed that on both platforms you can tailor the content to show whatever you want. There are a lot of tech channels on Odysee.
As far as far right content, at one point I did attempt to compare the 2 platforms and I found that YouTube has almost all of the same channels that you see on Odysee. YouTube just does a better job with their algorithm at drowning those channels out.

Personally, I usually do find new subs and subscribe because of cross posting.

The transcription is almost correct all the way except for one part.
When he says, “Whoever needed it, they’re dead”.
The transcription reads, “Whoever needed it, they’re okay”.

Well, what sort of standards are these tools built to?

I do not have this issue at all. I’m on Android using the Futo Keyboard.
Are you on Android or iOS? Are you using the stock keyboard app, or something else?

It’s very likely, although it could be hard to gauge since this only affects some users, or only on some videos.
I did notice that some videos stopped showing comments and a description in GrayJay for a short time, but after some updates I haven’t notice this happening recently. So, it’s likely that they did find a workaround for this issue.

PieFed has already implemented a feature which allows mods to move posts from one community to another. Lemmy and NodeBB are also working on this feature.
Ideally we choose a community where these posts are moved to, that way any great discussions aren’t lost and they can carry on in the proper community.

Another comment on here was mentioning that Matrix can only allow one user to share their screen at a time.
With Commet, can multiple users share screens simultaneously, or can only one user share multiple screens simultaneously?

I think the main problem here is the claim that the game is getting it’s “first update in 25 years”
If the update applied to both the original and the remaster, then it would be 25 years, but in this case the update only applies to the 5 year old “Resurrected” game.

Current readme on their github:
I know it’s hard to resist, but please wait a little longer before you dive deep into the current codebase or try to set up self-hosting. I’m aware the current stack isn’t very lightweight. In the next update, self-hosting should be straightforward, with a small set of services: Fluxer Server (TypeScript) using SQLite for persistence, Gateway (Erlang), and optionally LiveKit for voice and video.

Is he in the same discord server as them? Or is he unable to send direct messages to them?
Turning when you’re riding on a jetski and about to be in a head on collision.
Most people will panic and let off the gas to turn, but the jet ski isn’t going to be able to turn much unless you’re actually giving it some throttle.
