It didn’t ruin anything for me, but it didn’t compare to the terror of Lynch’s nuke in Twin Peaks season 3. I don’t think Nolan knows how to get that weird, and without that you can’t quite inspire terror.

I’m soooo looking forward to The Oddessy though. I’m curious about how he approaches the weird aspects. It seems so far outside of his aesthetic.

But… in Interstellar he really captures weirdness in alien landscapes. The tidal-wave mountain frightened me. It’s one of my favorite scenes in the movie. So I think he’s capable of capturing epic weirdness through his overly-technical method. But somehow he didn’t really use his imagination for the nuke in Oppenheimer.

I got into death metal because I needed more Slayer. A lot of these bands pick start their songs where a Slayer song reaches its peak of intensity, and then they get more intense.

Inception and Tenet are great high-concept action/thrillers. Dunkirk is really cool, and Oppenheimer was great too.

I really liked Tenet.

I think Interstellar is his worst movie. I generally really enjoy his movies.

It was a dumb movie with some excellent scenes and performances.

I see much more toxic behavior here than on reddit. Explicit calls for political murders, and when I criticize them (naively believing these to be open conversations about political or democratic strategies) I get banned from communities.

Neither is the “better option.” I will continue using both. I’m not allergic to “toxic” behavior.

I thoroughly enjoy most of their albums. They’re amazing. So funky, fast, and ruthlessly aggressive.

Windows gives me more control over my machine, but iOS actually works, and gives me the UNIX-like command line. Still sticking with Linux though because it gives me even more control.
