I’d be in favor of using PG-13 as the baseline, not PG. A lot of the stuff here I probably wouldn’t show a 7 year old. Lemmy isn’t exactly a children’s site anyway.

NSFW tags can be used for anything you wouldn’t show a minor, but keep in mind this isn’t a porn community - adult topics and suggestive content are okay, but actual porn is not (unless we do want to allow it???).

Going with the PEGI ratings for sexual content might be a bit more helpful. (There’s a bit of interpretation leeway because this is written for games not comic strips)

This [sex] content descriptor can accompany a PEGI 12 rating if the game includes sexual posturing or innuendo, a PEGI 16 rating if there is erotic nudity or sexual intercourse without visible genitals, or a PEGI 18 rating if there is explicit sexual activity in the game. Depictions of nudity in a non-sexual context do not require a specific age rating, and this descriptor would not be necessary.

Wikipedia

If I’m reading this correctly, PEGI 12 is if it subtly references sex in someway, or if a character is in a “sexy” pose; a “let’s Netflix and chill” or “is that pickle in your pocket” type of thing.

PEGI 16 is the sex scene on TV that your parents always seem to be watching when you walk in. It doesn’t show main parts of the act, but you know what they’re doing.

PEGI 18 is just porn.

From those descriptions, I suggest allowing PEGI 12 with no tagging necessary, PEGI 16 must be tagged, and PEGI 18 is not allowed.

I’d get rid of the last sentence of the wiki description too to make it simple - if there’s nudity tag it as nsfw.

Or even simpler; If you’d get arrested for showing it to a 16yr old, tag it. If you’d shoot your “creepy uncle” for showing it to your 16yr old kid, tag it.

I’d apply similar rules for violence, pegi 12 is fine, pegi 16 tag it, and pegi 18 is guro/NSFL and not allowed.

It looks like the asterisks in the spoiler title are messing with the spoilers.

Don’t be fooled by them! It’s delicious! It’s mayo but a bit more of a “spicy” flavor and some sugar. (Not like a hot pepper spice, just a mild spice? idk it’s hard to describe) great for sandwiches, horrible substitute for pretty much anything else that uses real mayo.

Whipped cream is probably the worst way to describe it, that’s like describing blue cheese as ice cream. Very different things.

Should just be a hint button that triggers the voice line.

That’s what mom calls them when they’re in trouble.

So the DOA? :D

I’d be more surprised if the government didn’t fine they guy reporting or require a lawyer to go through layers of bureaucratic nonsense designed to make it so hard to do anything the average person won’t bother.

Yeah, they are huge bottles sold individually…great for pouring a reasonable amount for many people.

Not as great for 1 person drinking it, unless you drink way too much, it will go flat before you can finish it. Never seen a 1.5l bottle before searching it now, that looks like something some one could easily carry with them to have soda all day long!

Soda bottles in the us shows both ounces and milititers.

Large bottles are sold as “2 liter soda”…that’s it.

Smaller bottles are in ounces (with the metric label just a requirement I guess - no one I know here talks about buying a 500ml soda)

Everything else is ounces or gallons, I’m sure someone will ‘umm actually’ me…but generally nothing else is metric; like milk and juice.

I saw that immediately, that’s so illegal. You should record it and report it to the appropriate 3-letter agency (no idea which one). Doubt you’ll get the money back, but making the assholes that run that machine deal with the government would be worth it to me.

Some sites have a character limit they don’t tell you about. They accept the password when you make it, but they also chopped off the last 10 characters.

I don’t think it’s morally correct to remove their names. People have the right to know who the artist is.

There’s the old question, can you separate the art from the artist? Everyone is going to have a different opinion, and for those that say no; sharing a comic without saying who it’s from doesn’t allow them to decide “that’s a Scott Adams comic, fuck that guy”.

Why stop there? Take everything away.

I know people have been trying to reason with you no avail.

Here’s my argument, stripping away the artist’s credit make you no better than AI. Take away the human behind the art and it might as well be ai slop.

Yes there should probably be a standard way posters attribute artists. So set the example you want to see. I agree, it is a lot nicer to read comics without the soid white borders filled with names, facebook logos and other crap.

If you want to crop panels to just be the comic, fine - but please at least put the artist name in the post description (which you do for some, so thank you for those) or better yet, just include both versions. You could put the original version under a spoiler so people aren’t forcibly advertised to, but if they want to find the artist they easily can, with out having to do a reverse image search.

I enjoy many of the comics you share and appreciate your active contribution to the community, but please recgonize by refusing to compromise on this you are becoming a negative presence here and only getting your self put on people’s individual ban-lists. All we ask is that you consistently attribute the artists in some fashion.

Wow, what a loony. Must have gotten on the wrong end of his high horse.

Thanks. That’s quite the extreme take, I get not wanting a crappy watermark across the whole comic. But a subtle signature, or small panel with their name should be fine.

If they erase social links, that’s still crappy but more understandable.

If they really believe the image it self shouldn’t have a credit, then they should put the credit in the post description. They could use a spoiler, so it’s up the individual if they want to be “advertised” to.

That second one is on HR - should have changed their name in the system.

It would have been cool quest line if you started hearing rumors about a serial killer in the forest and all your investigating just took you in circles, until you decide to focus on the big-bad guy assuming the killing will stop with him.

At the end of the story, once you’re in “post-story” free play mode, you learn the killings have picked up and become more brutal, sending you in more circles trying to track your self down.
